December 2023 by Tacid_Cousin (TacID Gaming)
I have been using Great Lakes First Federal for around five years now.I have not had a real negative experience (there have been minor mistakes in the past, easily fixed) until today. The issue toda on it's own is not why I am leaving a 2 star review however.Occasionally I receive my paycheck from work a few days before "official pay day" and I have not ever had an issue depositing it into my account a few days early, until today.I went to the Gladstone location to deposit my check (It is dated for 12/20 and today is 12/19)I was called up by a new teller, which is not a problem as I was not in any hurry and don't mind that they are learning on the job.Everything was fine until the teller noticed the date on the check was for the next day, they asked another employee what to do, and the other employee walked over to us and pushed my check back at me and stated with a rude tone that I could not deposit today and had to go.I asked if it was a new policy because I had done this before, and I was told that I would have to come back tomorrow.I left telling the new teller to have a nice day (they were not rude at all, only the second person that came over to us was rude).I just called the Escanaba location on the phone and asked about the policy, and I was told that checks can be accepted up to FIVE days before the date on the check.I wish that I caught the second person's name so that I could make a formal complaint, but I suppose a review will have to work.Be careful who you speak to at the gladstone location, some(not all) of them have some customer service issues.
