The girl was great that I talked to on the phone with places to visit recommendations etc. I guess for the price I was expecting more updated rooms etc. No central air, only 2 window air conditioners that don’t really cool the place very well. I could have paid a little more at a hotel and had better conditions and the use of a pool! Location is great to be able to walk to many shops and restaurants. We walked to a local coffee shop that was really cute.

Warm and friendly staff … explained the grounds and amenities. Loved the 100 year old structure and the LOCATION is unbeatable. Downtown is close but not too close … a quiet area with the best of the beach. Will definitely stay at the Blue Water Inn the next time we’re in Grand Haven!

I have been coming to the Bluewater Inn for the last 10 years on and off, and I don't even live in the area anymore. The location can't be beat, right across the street from the beach - both the City and the State Park - as well as an extremely pleasant 30 minute stroll into town. A variety of beach chairs and other items are available for your use while you're there, as is board games and other activities on site. The owners and staff are incredibly pleasant and helpful. The rooms are admittedly a little dated but they're always clean and comfortable. Overall, this can't be beat.

The room w was very clean but also very small. Unfortunately there are no restaurants nearby for simple meals. The staff was wonderful and so anxious to help. Be prepared for a college dorm like room .

Outstanding customer service. Arrived a bit early, but they knew we were coming with mobility issues. Set out a cone to for us to park. Awesome people.

This Inn has a great location & beautiful views. Very affordable. If you want a new, shiny, upscale hotel, this probably is not for you. But if you want a quaint room with great location, this is it. We loved it! Upon arrival, we found our room had not been cleaned from prior guests. Went to the office to report & within 5 minutes the owner & 3 other staff were at our door to clean it. I think that is excellent service. We were in room 9K which is on 2nd floor w 1 queen bed, kitchenette, bathroom, air, & cable TV. Also has 2-sliding glass doors facing right towards Lake Michigan & one facing to the west. It was everything we needed for rest & relaxing... and what a view! You can see the state beach right across the street with Lake Michigan right behind it. We also could see the pier. Watched 2 freighters come into port, watched 2 storms roll in over Lake Michigan ... it awesome. This room is connected to the 'open' deck. So if people sit outside your room it can be a bit noisy. They do have option of other balcony that is private just to the rooms that open to that side. We loved it!!! We'll come back again!

I’m in the resort business, this place has a lot of potential but comes up very short. The location is great. The facilities ( rooms and property) are disgusting. Curb appeal as you enter property is horrible, weeds have overgrown flowerbeds, old vending machines stacked in a corner, just bad optics.
The rooms, they are outdated, poorly maintained, mold in bathrooms, the bathrooms are outdated and dirty, little details( bugs in fanlight, toilet bowl lid beat up, tubs chipped and very outdated. Nothing matches as far as furniture. No headboards for beds, walls are paper thin.
It appears the ownership has or is letting it go.. it’s sad. I get zero pleasure putting a bad review on here but renter beware. Big money for big disappointment.

Had a FANTASTIC weekend trip away from the Windy City. We stayed at the Blue Water Inn and it was fabulous! BEST LOCATION you can find. You are ON the beach!! TONS of good eats, good cocktails and right near the downtown area. We stayed in Room 3B (there smallest room) and it was PERFECT for the two of us. Nice updated bathroom and shower, great community decks looking out to the water. The customer service was 10/10. The young man that checked us in was thorough in giving us tons of recommendations. There are beach amenities to use if you forget anything. Truly, a great experience. I would stay here again and recommend to a friend! Great find at a reasonable price!!

Stayed at BWI downtown and by the State Park, different trips. Downtown - had stayed there several years ago when my daughter got married. Nothing special but close to the venue and space for the girls to hang out. Stayed again this summer with my daughters. No bedding for the pull out bed available, floor was dirty, old and outdated, location good but that’s it. By State Park - old, outdated, paper thin walls, no tissues in room, not very secure at all. Location is very good, but I’d exchange that for a better place. I’m sure in its day it was great, but not now. I wouldn’t recommend either place and won’t be back.

My husband and I booked room 3K for 4 nights in September 2023 online . We went by some of the previous reviews on the location and the water and beach being right across from hotel. We drove 3 hours to have a Rest and Relaxing vacation after losing our son June 25th of 2023 . When we arrived to the hotel and went to office to check in we were looking at the hotel area and it was very run down and very out dated to say the least. We asked to see our room we booked . Going up on the second floor to our room we observed a lot of things dirty and not updated at all .When we opened the door to go in we were really shocked to see furniture that nothing matched and everything was scratched, dented, and so dirty looking. The curtains were dirty and looked like they hadn't been washed in a very long time. The living room sofa was a very broken down love seat that was a hide a bed that when pulled out there was no sheets or blankets in the room for it and it was so old and dirty. It truly was not at all what we were expecting . When you pay 1000.00 $ for 4 nights you would expect so much more .Needless to say we were very very disappointed but had, no choice at that point to stay or lose all of our money. There was no dead bolt locks on the doors for safety. The sliding glass door had no lock only a wood board put in the rail of door . That was your security. The only thing this place has going good for it is the fact that the Grand Haven State Park was across the street and Lake Michigan .Learnt a huge lesson on this one . You need to always check things out throughly before booking it .Very very disappointed in the Bluewater Inn and Suites in Grand Haven . Could of gotten a lot nicer hotel for that kind of money for sure. Please be avised not to expect much here as in the hotel itself. The View and being close to the lake is all it's good for. Will never stay here again ....Be warned ⚠️

The blue water downtown inn apartments are just gross. Cob webs, floors covered in sand, cracked windows, oven that doesn't work, just gross all around. Don't stay here.

Best location, directly across from the beach. Well taken care of, room was excellent, clean and comfortable. Parking can be challenging on weekends, but there is space all rooms.
