Just stopped into the bank, where, by the way, I have an account. I was looking to trade in a very modest amount of rolled change from our church "penny contest". While giving me cash for the rolls, she handed back the loose change and said "we don't take loose change", to which I explained "there is not enough of each to make a roll"; she again referred to a non-written "bank policy". I was not happy. I got home to count my change and here is what she refused to give me paper money for...18 quarters, 33 dimes, 15 nickels, 63 pennies (we added the two bags together, did not realize I had enough for a roll) and a Sacagaweah coin and a Susan B (both dollar coins) the teller was not friendly and not busy. I was the only person in the bank!? Did I mention that I have a year's long account at the bank!!?? I will, of course be looking for another bank. Remember when there was a "coin shortage" that actually wasn't? Apparently Comerica, a bank, did not get the memo. Terrible customer service, terrible explanation of policies, and a bad experience.
