These guys are so friendly and amazing! My band was playing a show during Coast Guard Festival and I soon realized (about 45 mins before we played) that I forgot some of my drums at home. I called these guys up and they lent me some toms to play the show. Very professional and very knowledgeable about gear. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone.

I brought my resonator in to have the action lowered so I could fingerpick on it. My guitar is now sounding amazing and is easy to play. Thank you much!

John has gotten me out of some jams. Cheryl has gotten me out of jams. Both of these people got me out of jams so I could play jams. This store in fantastic and the people are even better. Support your community, stop shopping at big stores. The whole "independent stores can't compete with big box shops" is a complete lie.

John is a gem! What an amazing dude! I dropped in to see what he thought of my 1997 Larivee D-03. He thought it was pretty cool, so we worked out a deal, and I left with an amazing 2014 Martin D-15M. Been playing all afternoon and couldn't be happier...the setup on this beauty is absolutely perfect. Check Guitar Haven out if you haven't already...would give 6 stars if I could!

My favorite guitar store! Nice people and they really have nice instruments and a good selection. It's not overwhelming like walking into a huge guitar center.

General Quick Points about: Guitar Haven (Grand Haven, MI)Pro's:+ Wide selection of quality used & new guitars+ Fair, and often good prices on gear (especially for a mom and pop shop)+ Chill Atmosphere (also humidity controlled)+ John and Cheryl are fun and knowledgeable+ You gotta meet Juno (the dog)+ Wide selection of lessons, or can refer you to someone (they are in the "know")+ Inside door handles are guitar necks (yes the frets are filed)Con's:- Juno is never there when I visit anymore- They don't carry the PRS strings I like- Parking can be annoying at times (worth the extra walk though)- They have 2 doors and I never know which to useDetailed Review:Guitar Haven is one of the last "Mom and Pop" shops in all of West Michigan, and you're missing out if you live around and haven't visited. I've bought a guitar there that I didn't even plan to buy (great price on a Taylor acoustic), I've put a guitar on consignment with them, and I've even donated a bass guitar with them.Everything with them is super easy, no sales pressure, just honest prices, real conversation about local shows or music teachers, and a chill atmosphere. It's hard to not walk out without getting something (get a t-shirt, it'll last longer than strings). They aren't one of the big box stores, but John and Cheryl have been upping their game lately with bringing in excellent used guitars like a PRS S2, Gibson Les Paul's, Dean Zelinsky guitars, and the list goes on. If I recall correctly, they get Reverend and Heritage guitars new, straight from the factory - Heritage is compromised of a large portion of former Gibson employees that were let go back when Gibson had a plant in Kalamazoo.

I took a chance on trusting John and his amp repair tech with my beloved Marshall and I'm glad that I did. While the technical assessment was contrary to other more experienced repair facilities, the end result was just as superb.
