Top notch equipment, competitive prices and friendly staff. What more could you ask? Be aware that if you book online, don’t go to the shop. The equipment is at their trailer in the BEACH by the restaurant Noto’s.

Had a GREAT experience with the Surf Shop’s beach rental today. Being local, I was able to wait until the last minute to book at home after checking the conditions and had no issues with availability…on a FRIDAY in July no less! Everything was promptly ready for me when I got there. A life jacket is included in your rental, but I had my own. The person who got me started gave me a little extra flexibility with the time I needed to have the paddleboard back, which made the experience much less stressful-no need to worry about being a little late and getting charged extra. Price is very reasonable compared to other spots nearby, especially if you just want to go out for a couple of hours. Rylan was great with getting me checked out and on my way when I got back. For the kind customer service and the price, you can’t beat it. Will definitely recommend to friends who visit and will be back!

We love their beach staff. So kind and helpful. Really enjoyed the paddle boarding and again super helpful getting us into the water. It would be nice if they had an option to schedule right there at the beach since cell reception isn’t that great. We almost couldn’t do it since we were having trouble connecting. Would love if there was a one hour option but price point for two hours is an incredible value!

This place was amazing! Not only is the owner the nicest person ever but they have a great selection of clothing including local and brand name stuff. I wish more stores were like this. Thank you again for all the help and the military discount! ??

On July 4th we were desperately looking for a paddle board rental and were getting discouraged and frustrated at not being able to find one close to Spring Lake or GH. Laura was so helpful and kind in getting us a rental, even when we came in flustered, with lots of questions. She went out of her way to hurry to a nearby drop off location since we didn't have a way of transporting it. She met us back at that location to pick it up and again was so kind, we appreciated her help, she made our day better! :)

Rented a board from this surf shop, and they were out of my size in wetsuits, the owner did me a solid and let me borrow his.Really kind gesture, you can tell their enthusiasm for people getting out there in the swell!

I stop here every time I’m in GH. This store something for everyone. Whether you’re shopping for clothes, renting or buying surf gear, or just forgot something on a beach day. Owners very nice and conversational and will tell you everything you need to know! The store itself is very organized and has an aesthetic vibe. Also have great deals sometimes that they post on their instagram

The surf shop is the perfect small business store. Whether you are in town for a week or a Grand Haven local, the surf shop has just about any beach apparel/toys/necessities you could imagine. The owners are a lovely local family who obviously pour their heart into the store, doing their best to make any and everyone feel comfortable and safe in the store. Super friendly staff, always willing to help! I have only ever had patient, inclusive, kind, and fun experiences in the shop! Definitely recommend stopping by!!

I worked retail in high school & college. I understand theft and the reality of shrinkage on a businesses profitability. What I don't understand is a black family of 5 walk in your shop on vacation and your employees go into high alert panic, assuming swarm formation. The employees never said hi or can I help you find. I felt extremely uncomfortable and was glad nobody wanted to linger or buy anything. Loss prevention is a reality, but extreme or targeted loss prevention scares customers away. We went to Barefoot Dave's place and we walked out with two bags full of stuff. He has a real welcoming vibe and his doggies are cute!!

The Surf Shop is a staple in town. They have a great selection of beach wear, swimsuits, and even skateboards! The staff is friendly and super helpful as well!
