I’m not one to typically write bad reviews but in this situation, I feel it is necessary. I brought my pet there as a referral from my primary veterinary. They were not able to properly diagnose my dog. Blue Pearl Animal Hospital’s staff are friendly and kind, but they did not do their diligence when speaking to me about my pet and refused to own their mistake and make it right. We started with an x-ray, it showed there was obviously something in his throat. Whether it was a tumor, or an object was unknown. I think it’s important to note that my dog is a 12-year-old lab who has had a chronic puking problem for the last 2-3 months. It was initially diagnosed as acid reflux. After reviewing the x-rays, I was given a series of options. Move forward with a throat scope pushing the billing to around $5000 for the day. By doing this it would determine if it was an object or a tumor. If it was an object, they would remove it under that $5000 bill. If not and it was a tumor, they would have to do surgery. They quoted me $4,000-$6,000 additional for the surgery. That would be a total of roughly $11,000 in all, worst-case scenario. My husband and I weighed our options and figured we could make the $1000 (care credit card) a month payment worst case to save our loved one’s life. Even though he was at his life expectancy. Other than this puking issue he is a healthy dog. We decided to move forward with the scope knowing we could afford the worst case. The scope showed it was a tumor, now they wanted to send out biopsy for additional testing to see if it was cancer and what surgery to proceed with. (more money) That’s fine, biopsy comes back inconclusive…. Even though they pretty much forced us to get it, so they could decide how to proceed. Surgery through the belly or open chest. We had decided that if they were going to do open chest, we would put him down. Didn’t want him to go through that at his age. But they insisted that they needed that biopsy to decide. So, we sent it in. Again, the biopsy came back inconclusive. They call with the results and don’t sound confident in anything they are saying. This call came in on Friday night almost a week after initial apt. We have been doing everything to keep our loved one happy and comfortable while we try and figure this out. Blue Pearl tells me they will have a vet call me Monday and explain things better as well as options and final quote for surgery. I did not receive that call on Monday. Instead, I received an email Tuesday morning with a $11,000 quote for surgery. Nobody called, nobody explained, and when I called to express my dissatisfaction, and explain that if we had known surgery would be $11,000, we would have never moved forward with the scope. Instead, we would have called Heaven at Home and been happy we got the time we had with him. I asked them to calmly and nicely for a refund for that scope, because of their error. And they refused. The policy is completely money driven, and I feel like I was catfished repeatedly. Now I am $5,000 in debt, my dog is so bad my husband is leaving work early to take him in, and we can’t even wait for Hevan at Home. I understand things happen, and I am sure that everyone there was doing their best, but they failed us and refused to make it right. So now we are $5000 + in debt and still must put our dog down because we can’t Afford the $11, 000 dollars. Thank you, Pearl Blue, all you did was take our money and give us false hope. Never once offering to make it right. So beware, if they mess up, they don’t give a hoot.

Blue Pearl Ophthalmology Department gave us a very thorough diagnosis for our dog, and several options on how to proceed with her care. We would definitely recommend the Ophthalmology Department. Thanks for taking good care of our Poppy Ann!

Called & explained why I needed to have my dog put down (behavioral issues). The woman working the desk said “yes, bring him in & we can help you”. So we get there & go to check in, she says they don’t euthanize for behavioral issues. Even though she said on the phone that they do. I asked who answers the phone, & she said it was her, so I asked why she would say that if they don’t offer that service? She said “I didn’t say that”. My husband & I both were on the phone & heard it. The redhead woman working behind the desk at 6 pm today, February 6th SUCKS. She gives wrong information, & then claims to have never said it. If you call & ask questions, I would advise to record your conversation just in case. She offered no solutions, no apologies, no sympathy. Just excuses.

We brought our dog Bogey to Blue Pearl for a severe eye abrasion with resulting dry eye. After 4 weeks of treatment at a local vet, we were referred to Dr. Sila, an ophthalmologist, for further care and treatment. The staff were kind and professional. Although Bogey has likely lost much vision in the eye, we found Dr. Sila to be extremely knowledgeable about Bogey’s condition, treatment, and the resources necessary to help Bogey’s condition.
