Travel Lodge experience for Trump Tower's prices. * got two nights in luxury king suite room for wedding party weekend * stopped by after wedding reception to drop luggage off so we could attend the after party. * staff would not bring our small amount of luggage to the room, so our car and party waited 15 minutes for us to bring to room. * got back at 2am and ordered Door Dash. Driver had a hard time finding hotel so we told them to leave it at the front desk. I called the front desk to tell them to be on the lookout and they acted like we were annoying them, very disrespectful so I hung up. * front desk never called us to let us know doors dash delivered. We got a message from from dash that they left at the front desk. * went to bed and woke up to see the state of our suite. Mind you, we paid $1900 for two nights. * hairs and other debris littered our bed; drywall and paint chips all over the floors, dirty baseboards, hairs in carpet, gum on floor, etc. Pretty nasty, especially at that price point. * checked out early. Refused to stay a second night. If I'm going to stay in a dirty, nasty room with horrible customer service, I'll go to Travel Lodge for $50 a night instead of $850 a night. * two stars because the morning crew / first shift was appalled by the pictures and very apologetic.

Beautiful hotel, seriously. So decorative and little things were elaborate. Beds and pillows, not comfortable AT ALL, I woke up in a lot of pain every morning. My room was quiet because I was near a fire exit at the end of the hall. No one walking by. I could hear the people in the room next to me, having fun a little loudly. Luckily it wasn't every night!

I recently traveled to Grand Rapids for a work conference, and this was the host hotel. I actually enjoyed it. I had a great view - 24th floor with a nice view of the city/water. It had less "random lights" in the room than other hotels, the provided toiletries were actually really nice, and the bed and pillows were reasonably comfortable. There was also a mini-fridge which I LOVE because I hate traveling and leaving food behind, when I can potentially snack on it later. I used the print function in the business center and it was easy breezy and cheap. Our conference hotel rate was also quite reasonable, and the break-out meeting rooms were comfortable and functional. On the less great side, downtown hotels are always expensive - and this was no exception. Food and bar prices were higher end for lower quality. AND, this was the BIG problem for me. They stop serving food/drinks at like 10-11 p.m. And even the food being offered from like 9-11 p.m. was limited in the choices, which forces you to order in or leave the hotel in the middle of the night. Maybe this isn't an issue for others, but as a single mom, I often don't get to eat "first dinner" until after 9 p.m. And I usually eat second dinner at like midnight. Breakfast for me most days starts at normal people's late lunch like 1-2 p.m. I'm aware that's a weird eating schedule, but at other places, there is always a late night option, at least for room service. Literally EVERY kitchen closes at the same time with no internal hotel options.

I had a great experience at the Amway Grand Plaza. I stayed there recently for a weeklong conference and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Great location (I had never been to Grand Rapids) but more importantly the staff were great and extremely helpful. I had some special circumstances and they went the extra mile to help me out and were very friendly about it. It was a very pleasant stay for me.

The hotel itself is beautiful. It’s in a great location and lots of shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Also, huge bonus that you can walk all the way to Van Andel Arena through the sky pass. Pool was also a hit, but our entire group came out with chemical rashes on their face that were really painful. Even the adults were complaining.Be prepared to wait 10 minutes for an elevator in a line like you’re at Disney. I’ve never witnessed anything like it before. The rooms are small. Beds are super hard and uncomfortable so no one slept good. We stayed in the tower and at least our view was great. There was only a comforter on the bed. No top sheet which was super bizarre.Restaurants consist of Ruth’s Chris and Wolfgang Puck, so if you want to eat within the hotel be prepared to spend some money. For 4 of us for breakfast I spent over $70. Lunch for 3 in the one spot that was open was $90.No microwaves in the room, so you couldn’t even heat leftovers, which to me felt intentional.WiFi was AWFUL. You’d constantly have to disconnect and reconnect to get it to work. It was extremely annoying. Good luck trying to work from it.The room keys were also so finicky. We only stayed 3 nights and had to stand in line to get new room keys issued to us 3 times because they just suddenly stopped working. All they ever said said was “yea, it happens.” The problem with that is that they control the elevators and the parking garage gate, so it’s extremely inconvenient when the key card doesn’t work. Plus there could be a 30 minute wait at the front desk.Directions to get to your room are non existent and everyone in my party had trouble finding their room or even the elevators. There was very little directional signage. It almost feels like a wedding/banquet hall first and a hotel second.Vending areas were expensive ($3+ for a bottle of soda) and even those you had to have a hotel key to access.Overall - beautiful hotel lobby. Great location. Functioning pool. But that’s about it unless you’re there for an event.

I will say I enjoyed our stay here. The convention we attended here was beautiful. Location is great the parking is right there which is amazing. Only thing is, at the salon I booked a hair apt. At 5pm, the lady wasn't there until 5:15pm she spent maybe 20 some minutes on my hair and I had to pay $90 for a curly ponytail!!! I could have done that in my own room. Salon prices eww....Rooms: Rooms where nice and cleanWalkability: Within walking distance of many bars and restaurants.

Travel here each year for Great Lakers Fruit Growers Conference. Try to make reservations a year in advance but they will not. Made reservations in July requesting rate for conference but upon arrival yesterday the rate was not honored. Instead of a $500 3 day cost they booked the most expensive room in hotel & have a $2,000 bill. Always a mystery when reservations open up..

The air in the hotel is beyond dry. My son and I both drank an over excessive amount of water and our noses were stuffy by day 2.When your neighbor flushes you hear your toilet run. When your neighbor turns the shower on, your tub makes bubbling noises. The toilet has a public bathroom flush plunger in such a nice hotel?!Our tub plunger would not budge and my son had to help pull the plug for the water to drain during my shower. The plunger switch did not work.Dusty TV area.

Definitely was a fancy ambiance at the MAA conference. Very beautiful and waiters were very pleasant. The food was great in texture and flavor for such an event. Would definitely like to come back and see whatelse The Amway had to offer.

We had a wonderful one bedroom suite with 270 degree floor to ceiling wrap around windows. It was quite a room with two closets and a very nice above standard mini refrigerator, one that was bigger and worked very well. My only two complaints: no full service breakfast within the hotel and what appeared to be a jet tub that intentionally did not have working jets. I was afraid from the pictures that this place would be really old and dated looking, but it was quite luxurious with plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars. I would call this more a 4.5 rather than a four. Downtown GR is very nice, clean, and active.

I love staying at the Amway as the staff are always friendly and helpful, the hotel is very clean, the rooms are comfortable and the public areas are beautifully decorated. The restaurants provide a good variety of options and the attention to detail make each restaurant a great dining experience.

We have been coming to the Amway Grand Plaza to kick off our Christmas holiday season for years. We usually book several rooms, and request that the rooms are somewhat close together. Everyone goes above and beyond to make our experience special. There is no equal to the Amway grand Plaza. It is heads and shoulders above all the other hotels in my opinion. We always feel special, taken care of, and pampered.

Absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel in Grand Rapids. My room was beautiful with a view overlooking the river and downtown. The views were breathtaking! Excellent customer service, a clean room, and a comfy bed....everything was top notch. I highly recommend.

Place was lovely. While everyone was helpful, signage was less than consistent. When a convention is going on, the two breakfast venues are swamped. There is no cheap, reliable, available breakfast/lunch alternatives. Great view of the river from Roma on the west end. Lots of good places to eat nearby. Good parking.
