April 2024 by Higher Level House Washing
First of all, anyone looking to apply for a job at the Grand Rapids Downtown Market should do themselves a huge lifesaving action by going to indeed dot com and reading all the absolutely abhorrent 1 star reviews! You are so welcome; I just saved you on so many different levels! Please note that if anyone in these photos resembles any real person, it is purely coincidental. The images are created for illustrative purposes and do not depict any specific individuals. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is unintentional and purely coincidental.Great greenhouse and wedding venue on the surface but an extremely toxic place to be around. EXTREMELY TOXIC. Upper management is literally a clown show and the wonderful food vendors downstairs know it too.Watch out for all the homeless people trickling in from under the Wealthy street bridge! Constant begging and unwanted contact in the parking lot all the way to the front door, sometimes even inside the building as they make their way up to the one and only public bathroom to use their needles. Scary and potentially dangerous place to be around for the public and employees.I encourage everyone to read the lower ratings of the Grand Rapids Downtown Market before going down to the inner city as this has been a problem for years and just gets worse.Don’t let the beautiful greenhouse fool you (you can’t get in anyhow). I can’t imagine spending all that money to have a wedding venue there and having to share the space with the crazed public. Yes, even the bathrooms! Welcome to the Grand Rapids Downtown Market…Please note: The author does not assume and hereby disclaims any liability to any party for any loss, damage, or disruption caused by errors or omissions, whether such errors or omissions result from accident, negligence, or any other cause.Safety: Tons of homeless (I guess we are supposed to use the term “un-housed” now) crawling everywhere. Whatever. Just be certain not to use the term bum, vagrant, tramp, vagabond, drunkard, derelict or drug addict. Sleeping on the benches/sidewalk, sneaking into the building and roaming around private areas, harassing even women with small children after you pay for parking!!!

I highly recommend sitting at the wine and cheese bar and ordering one of their amazing charcuterie trays. The cheese, the bread, and the meats at the wine and cheese bar all come from vendors there in the market, and they were all outstanding.

I've been coming here since they first open and I've watched business grow bigger I've also seen places cone and go. There are gems here like no other and some places that have been there since day one of being open. This is a cute date night place but it can get a little pricey quickly. I do love coming here when I can there are some really great places here. If you are visiting I would definitely stop in.

Tried four different spots. All but one were very average. Place was empty too. Honestly it’s a good place for super cheap takeout food and not much more. Food was across the board very common in both prep and flavors. Good prices but that’s about it

Never again! I ordered a specialized item to be picked up the following day. This is gated but when I pulled in the gate was open so I pulled in, picked up my board. When I left they parking structure personnel held me hostage after explaining to them that the gate was open. The attendant told me to put on my hazards and back up while they're were 3 cars behind me!!! Really, Finally some other customers had to plead with the attendants. A screen popped up to pay $24, so I paid it just to get out of there.Being furious I called the Market itself. They only offering was it’s managed by Ellis Parking, repeatedly. No remorse for the experience and the inconvenience to me or to the other customers. So in the future, don’t park here, don’t even shop here. The market itself it completely contrived and not worth the visit in Grand Rapids.

A very neat place. We do not have anything like it in the Detroit or suburb area.

Whole bunch of restaurants and comestible shops under one roof. We went to the sushi bar and they did a bang up job. Fish seemed fresh and all ingredients were super tasty. Prices were almost unreasonably inexpensive compared to what I'm used to.The gal who took my order was super friendly and very helpful. The chef was quick, efficient, and very artful. I need to try some of the other places here but this one is definitely going to be a repeater.Noteworthy details: Wide variety of very good handmade products.

Nice variety of vendors with onsite paid parking available. It does get very busy on the weekends so it can be crowded and congested inside.
