I had just left another place (Douglas J Institute) that absolutely butchered my hair, and so I went to Great Clips (Forest Hills Center location) to see if they could fix the previous haircut massacre (slight exaggeration). They were able to fix it (and took the time to do very good job at it as well), and helped me out tremendously! (I should mention that the young lady that cut my hair at Great Clips was still an apprentice, but did an outstanding job paying attention to the details and asking for assistance when she was unsure of how to fix certain aspects of the previous butchering). Lesson learned! Next time, I'll pay the extra $3 to go to that Great Clips location! It's well worth it!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Elizabeth and the experience she gave my son during his haircut. From the moment we walked in as walk-ins, she welcomed us with kindness and patience, making us feel at ease right away. My son has multicultural hair, and in the past it has sometimes been a challenge to find a stylist who not only understands his hair texture, but also takes the time to approach it with the right care and tools. Elizabeth did exactly that and more.
What immediately stood out to me was how thoughtful and gentle she was with her approach. The very first thing she did was pull out a pick, taking time to carefully work through his hair before even considering the scissors. This instantly gave me confidence that she truly knew what she was doing and respected the process, rather than rushing through it. She treated his hair with respect and care, and it made all the difference.
Elizabeth also made sure to involve my son every step of the way. She asked him multiple times what he wanted, what he liked, and if he felt comfortable with the progress. Instead of just giving him a haircut, she gave him a sense of ownership in the process, which made him feel proud and confident. It was so refreshing to see a stylist who listens so intently to a young client and treats them with the same level of care and importance as an adult. One of the first times my son left not feeling anxious.
Another thing that impressed me was that she never rushed. Even though we were walk-ins, Elizabeth took her time to make sure the haircut came out just right. She balanced professionalism with a warm, personal touch, creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere the entire time.
By the time she was finished, my son was smiling from ear to ear, and his hair looked fantastic—fresh, stylish, and exactly what he wanted. I left feeling grateful not only for the haircut itself but also for the experience. Elizabeth is a true gem, and we will definitely be back. I would highly recommend her to anyone, especially parents looking for a stylist who understands and honors multicultural hair with kindness and expertise.

Went in on a Friday afternoon and there was no wait. Liz asked how I wanted my hair cut and made several mid-cut progress checks. I am very happy with today’s cut.

I’ve been to this branch in forest hills a few times. There was only one employee that manage to cut my hair properly. Today I went for a haircut, and the lady that cut my hair messed it all up the worst way possible. First, there was a language barrier, then I asked one thing, and she want the other way. Wasted time and money, and now I look bad. I’ll have to go somewhere else to get this messed fixed.
Hairdressers, barbers, and similar professional, should be better prepared to handle different hair types, different styles, and ideas.
I look ridiculous, and the worst part is, I had to pay for this!

I can always count on the staff at Great Clips to provide, fast, friendly and professional service as well as a great value. The app is also very user friendly and convenient in scheduling and knowing when the folks are available to get my haircut. Keep up the great work!
