Definitely will use Hertz and this office again,. one of the best car rental experiences I’ve had. I use car rentals quite frequently but this place is top notch!!!!

Not a company I would recommend doing business with in any capacity. 1st rental resulted in two vehicles infested with cockroaches. 2nd rental resulted in a car that smelled heavily like cigarettes and got attitude when attempting to return the vehicle.

Don't even know where to start, even getting the rental was a hassle, from not being able to find it because of there being three companies in one, to hidden fees, to not being able to apply discounts, to giving inaccurate information about adding driver after picking up the rental. And it wasn't just this location tried to stop by a different location while on the trip to add driver and they were closed before 6 and had a hand written paper stating that they don't observe the hrs that are on the door instead they close at 5. All in all I dont Intend to use them for a rental again. And there were all sorts of water spots on the outside of the vehicle including the windows. Something i forgot to note they didn't make sure that fluids on the rental were full had a message on flash across the dash couple of times about needing washer fluid and I didn't use them at all. Also wasn't pleased that they never did a walk around the vehicle.
Returning the vehicle to this location really wasn't any better more run around about discrepancies about when things are required to be done.
Also a lack of making sure that people are aware of things at the time of rental found out at drop off today. That could have saved 2 days worth of rental. Had they made sure I was aware that there was a Dropbox for the key.
All in all, I think it's a very ghetto location and that the Hertz brand needs to make sure that regardless if I'm calling their 1 800 number or talking to somebody at a location I'm given the same information.

I was a long time hertz customer they use to be my go to. I recently had a rental and it was stole out of my possession. Cops recovered the car with all my belonging but Hertz took the car and my belonging. They stole a brand new iPad, air pods, ray bands, my daughter’s car seat, clothes and more. They won’t tell me where my things are I just keep getting the run around. I’m tracking my devices and they’re saying someone from hertz is trying to use them. I’ve called over and over but nothing. I had to literally drop out of college because I don’t have my things for school. Hertz really spit in my face!! Told me to go get my things from Detroit Michigan, I get there and they say come back Monday 9-5. This company hates the customers. They will make your life hell and smile in your face!!
Here it is 9/16/25. No one has reached out about my things yet. You would think hertz would be more helpful since I was the one who vehicle was stolen. Still nothing on my belonging and no one will answer my emails or calls. I talked to the cop who recovered the car yesterday and he said again “your things were in that car once hertz got it back”, so that tells me hertz are very dishonest/thieves or they simply don’t care about the black customers. I’ve called every day since 8/25/25 and no one has gotten back with me about anything. The one time they did answer the manager did want to talk so she just put the phone down and never came back. This corporation is horrible and very classless.
9/18/25- Here I am again trying to reach to Hertz Detroit, but no answer again. The phone just rings and rings all day. I’ve been calling for over a week to try and come get my belongings but no one will respond. This company is only showing me that they are in fact trying to steal my belongings. I’m on the phone as I type now and it’s currently been ringing for 30 minutes now.
- Now the hertz corporation is saying my belonging isn’t in the vehicle. After the manager and the police already confirmed my items were in the car. They are trying to rob me blind. I’ve asked to speak to managers/ceos but no one has reached. I spent 1200$ on my iPad pro. I’ve had to drop out of college because I don’t have my things for school.

They allowed me to book a car, when I arrived they casually told me that there were no rentals available.

I scheduled a rental from them online, only to show up and the place was completely empty with a hand drawn sign saying closed. Even the Hertz support agent on the phone was aghast at how this place operates.

The poor reviews are accurate. Hertz corporate should shut them and/or strip them from doing business under the Hertz name. Looking through the other windows, you can really tell that this place is poorly maintained. It makes sense why so many people complained in their reviews about getting cars that were dirty and smelly.
