As a person that works with a financial institution as an Assistant Manager, I would definitely say poor customer service experience today. Went in the branch to cash two checks that were made out to my mother and I due to the sell of our home and over paying escrow.The teller didn’t have on a name tag, no name tag at her window, and wasn’t wearing proper work attire (a pull over fleece with the name brand logo). Nor did she greet us with a welcoming presence.She saw me pull both checks out of two separate envelopes with the stubs still attached as I handed her my DL to wait for my mother’s DL to hand to the teller. She went on to state that she can’t cash them since I don’t have an account with LMCU and pushed my DL back across the counter. Instead of realizing that the checks were made out to the both of us, offering me to open an account, or asking my mother if she was an account holder.She asked what did we get the checks for after I informed her that my mother had accounts at LMCU and set the letter on the counter from the mortgage company along with sliding my DL back to her.My mother lives within walking distance to that branch, but next time I would rather drive across town to MFCU where they greet their loyal customers by name or a better attitude.Yet I was the one to tell the teller to have a nice day.

Went in to add a new account, left so disappointed and offended than I'm moving my mortage and checking to another bank. More corporate than a big bank.

Terrible experience from start to finish with our construction loan and then conversion to mortgage. Repeated requests for the same documents. I had to start taking screenshots of what I sent via secure email to prove I had already sent them. Required to open a checking and savings account in order to get construction loan. Asked for a large amount money for our escrow account out of the blue when we converted to mortgage. Once we closed on the construction loan, no one contacted us for months until I randomly got some documents to sign related to the mortgage and then the ask for escrow account money. No one explained the full process to us or gave us a heads-up on what was next. Last straw was they tried to draw ACH from the checking account for our mortgage and we only use the savings account. I was not given a choice on which account to draw from or the date. They just did it. I would give zero stars if I could.

I had need of a Notary to sign some papers. They will only let members use their Notary. I’d pay, it’s not like I was looking for free. I’m not a member here and from this experience I’m pretty sure I’ll never be one. ♂️

Changed closing date on the person buying my house 3 times. Non-responsive. Sharon was supposed to be the mortgage officer but couldn't manage to get anything done. Terrible experience do not use them as a mortgage lender, they do not care at all about closing dates or how stressful buying a house is. I have 3 daughters and they made this the worst move of my life and I've bought 3 houses previously.

I don't understand why this""" so-called financial institution """would charge a service fee fee for a customer trying to cash a check written from their financial institution??? Hillary at Lake Michigan credit Union on Lake Michigan Drive refused to cash this check without a five dollar service fee even though it was from their institution..???. Doesn't make sense at all!It certainly does not give me any reason in the future to join such an establishment like this! Customer service/1st impressions are lasting impressions. This institution is not for me!I mean after -all-are they that hard up for five bucks??? I did mention to Hillary that I would follow up on this and I am.!...

Such an excellent location! The employees are incredibly kind and helpful, they're straightforward about what is best for you monetarily and really want whats best for their customers. I live across town but will always drive over to their location for their excellent help.
