Been shopping with meijers weekly for over the past 2 decades, and since the government created pandemic, the store hours have changed so now you've got to deal with employees stocking shelves and pallets in the isles (if their even restocking the items that are all out, but that's another issue) and you can also see it within the employees they hate the new standards and operating procedures and if you know any of them personally they'll even say it! And my 2nd complaint is self check out reliance, the store is becoming about greed just like Walmart (which I refuse to go to) they have almost no cashiers anymore, and rely on self checkouts which are constantly faulty and then the workers treat you like a theif if their unsure the slightest bit, or the lovely (sarcastic) red head girl who thinks communicating with employees is her #1 priority and if you call her out on it then she freaks out and has the nerve to run her loud mouth even more! I see they don't fire people they move them around, so she's now working self checkouts which require you to stand and stare at customers..........not to mention they employ "greeters" which is a massive waste of funds in my opinion, you could use them fund to hire cashiers to actually assist customers instead of staring at them and saying hi and bye! Hopefully someone in corporate reads these reviews and makes some serious changes and stop following walmarts terrible business practices, and follow Fred Meijers inital goals and business practices, before meijers looses your long term customers for good.

Meijer is a very special store for me, it is a clean store. The products are always fresh. And of very good quality. In the clothing area it is always well organized. And there are always good deals. It is my favorite store because everything is of good quality.

I will say that the staff are all kind and helpful here. The bathrooms here are almost always clean and ready to use. The store is generally clean and in good order, and is usually without any horrible checkout line wait times. You have come a very long way from how you used to be back in the late 90's and early 2000's!!! This store was known as one of the worst in town back then. I am so pleased to see how much better your store is doing now!!!! Keep up the great work Meijer!!!!!! Well done! ?♥️❣️♥️❣️♥️?

February 5th, 2 registers were open at 3 PM , customers backed up to the clothing dept. No sense of urgency on Meijers part to open another lane. Finally two people came from customer service and opened a lane but way to late. Sign on the wall at customer service says customers don't need us, we need the customers , wonder what that is all about. This checkout lane thing a Meijer is an on going problem.. Its hard to operate a business to a profit, nothing happens til you get the money

My husband and I decided to pop in and check out Meijer. We were just visiting from out of state and never been in one. Totally thought it was a massive grocery store. This place has everything! We were amazed. Store was very clean, and as someone who is a bit more introverted loved all the self check out registers. Think we spent about and hour just going up and down the aisles. Wish we had one in Colorado! Again, the store was way cleaner and cleaned/organized shelves - more so than any Walmart or Target Ive ever been in.

Self serve Cash registers all shut down. It was only 8:20pm.The entrance on this side of the the stores closes at 9pm. Why shut everything down 40+ minutes earlier ??Walked to other side. Only 1 cashier was open with 10 Customers in line. The Self serve was open with limited spots at this end.Don't go to Meijer after 8pm VERY POOR or non-existent service.

What a nasty store with horrible customer service. First I want to start off saying, Meijer has been going downhill for years, lately I've been trying to do all my shopping at Aldi.Got out of work late today so I stopped in to grab a few items and while exiting by completing purchases at self checkout, a item rang up at a different price then expected. So I reluctantly walked over to the worker at computer and asked for assistance. A pudgy little incel named "Matthew" (pronouns "her"? According to coworker) stepped in to help. I explained that I was confused and that I read the sign different than the price at register and "Matthew" got attitude and said it's only if you buy 7. (not how I read the sign, but whatever I just wanted out of that dump) "Matthew" (tan hat) says "well take me to the sign then".See, here's the problem Matthew, unlike you, I don't plan on spending 8 hours per day in this nightmare of a retail store, I just want to go home.So I tried to explain that I didn't like shopping at Meijer and I just wanted to leave.Matthew replied something about how I should not come here or some petty comment. I said "I usually don't." Then the incel gets all mouthy, which in a way I appreciate because it makes my will to never step foot back into this godforsaken store again.I know the store is low paying and I feel bad for the workers and I don't know why Matthew took my frustrations so personally, is her last name "Meijer"? So I really hope no punishment comes to Matthew for speaking up and being mouthy. The best resolution may just be for Matthew to continue that stellar career in retail at Meijer and I avoid this chain at all cost. Why do they always put the most unfriendly staff at the self checkout?Lastly I personally don't shoplift but one visit a few months back, I witnessed a young gal just packing her book bag and pockets with all sorts of merchandise and saw her being confronted at the checkout. They did nothing and she left with her five finger discount. Oh well. Maybe it was like a 7 for 5 discount?

This store is close to home so I shop there regularly. They usually keep things stocked up pretty good. But I have noticed lately they are out of a lot of things that I go in for. Hopefully that will be fixed very soon.

This is ridiculous. I show up at Meijer (today on June 5th) to return a box of expired sausages they had on the shelf that I JUST bought (should have looked) only to discover the entire row of Jimmy Dean sausages were expired just sitting on the shelf. I showed up at 8:10pm to return them and apparently the customer device desk is only open until 8, so the two workers just standing nearby at a register informed me after waiting for a few seconds, I frustratingly had to go back to put that box in my car, came back to buy one that wasn’t expired and found nothing but expired packs, about 20-30 or so of them. Not to mention only one checkout lane was open & one side of the self checkouts, so I had to stand in a long line just for some bottle slips.Meijer needs to step up their game & practices significantly on pulling expired food. I just wasted time & gas and left with nothing.

Good selection however they are in desperate need of more open cashier lines. I have started buying groceries when I can at other stores that have human beings at the checkout. I should not have to check out and bag my own groceries as I am older and this is difficult for me. Also, the quality of the fresh produce and meat has gone downhill considerably. There is a small family run grocery store that I buy my meat and produce at now. They have an actual butcher counter and the meat is fresh. Better quality and cashiers who greet you with a smile.

Have been trying for 2 weeks to order a cake for my 93 year old mother. After being told it could not be done because they had graduation and father's day cakes to do....I went on line and ordered one from Plainfield Meijer. It was decorated absolutely to perfection. The filling and cake was delicious. We received a ton of compliments and asked where we got it. We will be ordering all of our sheets cakes from here from now on. Thank you Plainfield Meijer.

Usually, this store runs out of product fast from the amount of traffic coming in. Today was a good day. Everything I needed was in stock. The store was organized and clean. The employees are a friendly group and made my shopping experience a good one.

They had what I needed, got in and out quick. But not one electric cart available. It is very painful for me to walk more than thirty feet. The cart makes a big difference. If there are none available I sometimes turn around and leave. Today I only needed one item, and there were several benches that I could stop and sit for a minute. Recently had both hips replaced

I'm disabled and walk with a cane. Every employee stops me and asks if I want the electric scooter and they will go get it for me. Customers ask too! Everyone is so nice.I do wish that you could somehow streamline the service desk and make the b***chs be nice. Some are downright MEAN.
