Caleb helped me build something that I will likely use for the rest of life, literally 24/7. I have a terrible slippery shoulder that will fall out of place if not properly supported, and there’s no athletic brace or tape or really anything less sturdy than leather that has been able to give me any sort of relief from the pain. He and I threw this bad boy together last minute in the Tuesday open studio. I gave him a rough sketch, some color choices, and we set to work. Had I stuck with my original plan the whole time and not had so much fun, we might have gotten done sooner. I learned so much, and made a fun new friend. The price for my project was just incredible and I learned so much. I will be back soon after next paycheck and I hope to make a sheepskin parka/poncho.
I really can’t thank him enough for this simple three point harness/brace. I slept through the night and my back didn’t fall out of place for the first time in my reasonable memory. Yes, it’s so well constructed that it’s comfortable enough to sleep in.
The sales floor is just incredible. You will love this place. If you have decent hands, you’ll make lasting things that you can’t buy at today’s prices.
Again, special thanks to Caleb and also Elijah who took my original call. This was the most fun thing I’ve done in many months, and to top it off, it fixed my pain. You guys rock.

Today I went into Tandy leather in Grand Rapids near 28th and Breton. I had a suede leather jacket that had some stains on it. I talked to the clerk about the best methods of either removing the stains or covering them up. He advised me to use a suede dye to cover them up.
He was working on his own project at the counter. He directed me towards the back of the store where they keep the leather dyes.
I couldn’t find what I was looking for, so I had to yell back to the front of the store, It was obvious he was not going to leave the counter to come assist me
After a period of time, I took my jacket and started out the door. At this time, he asked me if I found what I was looking for, I told him no that I needed help and I could tell that he was preoccupied with what he was working on And that he was not going to help me. He said that he could probably put the project down and help me. I told him no, that would probably be too much of a bother for him and left the store.

Went here to find some leather for some projects, and they were super helpful and had good prices. Caleb is the man, he answered all my questions as a novice getting into leather working. Definitely going back when I need more leather and tools! This place is awesome.

Went in for the first time today and this store is definitely the place to go if you’re getting into Leather working or need some advice. Caleb helped me with some advice on tools, picking the leather for my project and gave me some great recommendations on how to make some difficult cuts I’d been struggling with and he recommended a great finish that’s definitely an upgrade over what I’ve been using. Will definitely be back for my next project.
Also the other guy on staff was helpful too but I didn’t catch his name.

I travel for work and have a leather work business on the side. Well I received a few requests from coworkers for belts and I came in to pick up the necessities and Elijah absolutely helped me out, offered some suggestions and turned me onto a few products I hadn’t yet tried that he even had examples that he uses daily. really helped boost the quality of my work. Even let me use the classroom for a few minutes to put my projects together since I had nowhere else to do it. Great store, even better employees. Can’t recommend highly enough.

This store is just the best! I picked up the craft last summer and have been really enjoying it, and having such a wonderful store to browse and shop has made it all the more enjoyable. Elijah and the rest of the staff are kind, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable, and always have a friendly tip and enthusiasm for whatever I'm working on. The classes are awesome and a great way to get started, and they keep a great stock of hardware, leather, tools, and more.

Caleb (might be spelling this wrong) was SUCH an amazing help today! My husband and I are very new in leather crafting and he was thorough in his explanations, made great recommendations and helped putting us at ease with our purchases. We could tell that he really had a passion for this craft/business and wanted people to be completely satisfied with their purchases/projects. Newbies, do not be afraid to come here, you are in good hands!
Tandy, if you are reading this—thank you for hiring passionate people like Caleb, he deserves a raise at the very least.

This leather shop was much larger than expected and has all of the tools you could possibly need for your project. The pricing is very reasonable and the quality of everything is great.
