This U-Haul Rental process was quick and easy. I filled out my driver information online beforehand. Crystal S was a boss, juggling checking out multiple people at the same time. She was super helpful and made everything easy.

Jeremiah and Brandon were very very helpful today! We called the Alpine location first and by the time we got there they had given away the trailer we had requested over the phone. We made it to Plainfield and these two gentlemen hooked us up on a short notice! Very grateful for good guys like them!

I’ve driven past this place a hundred times but hardly noticed it is there. places like this are easy to take for granted until you need them. I needed a quick dolly today. The lady at the counter was handling ten things at once and got me taken care of like a champ. It wasn’t a cross country truck, but I appreciate it. Thanks for being a useful neighbor.

Crystal pro ided me with amazing service. Due to a customer not returning the key for the pickup truck, I was not able to get my original scheduled time. She upgraded me to the next size up all while communicating this fully. Her customer service and care was top notch.

O stars. A lady that works there has no idea what she is doing. Very bad service and only a couple people know how to do their job, so you have to call in advance to see if they are working but good luck with them answering the phone. Place is a joke.

I've been renting a truck every week for the past 3 months. My experience dealing with the different U-Haul sites around Grand Rapids I found the one on Plainfield to provide the best service with the friendliest people. That is until this last time I rented. I have never had to deal with Crystal (the owner). I have seen her working every time before this and she has always had a bad attitude. I did not realize until this last time that she was the owner. I always assumed she was just an employee who obviously hates her job. Apparently there was an issue with a rental prior to my reservation. The previous customer picked up their truck later than their reservation was for but still used it for the full 24hrs from the time they picked the truck up but was not charged for the extra time. Crystal asked if I would be able to bring my rental back by 830, 2 hours before it was due based on my reservation. I told her I would not be able to make 830. She then said she would have to put me in the next size up. A bigger truck is going to cost me more in gas. So I asked about the $50 reservation guarantee and Crystals attitude changed. She was clearly very upset with her employees, slamming thing around on the counter and reprimanding the employee, I assume was responsible for the issue, right in front of me. It was at this time I looked at her name tag and saw the title "owner" below her name. I too am a business owner and I realize employees make mistakes from time to time and need to be made aware of their mistakes in order to prevent it from happening again. However employees are people too and deserve to be treated as such. What I witnessed was extremely unprofessional and because of that I will be taking my business to another location. Just as my production has increased and I will be requiring a truck twice a week instead of the once a week I have been using.

Had a hitch installed on my vehicle a few months ago. I am very disappointed at the work performed. My rear bumper diffuser was bent and rolled to make the hitch fit. The Tech tried to tell me that my car had been in a previous accident and that is why it looked the way it does. 2 days after the install, service engine light comes on. After scanning the code, discovered that the Tech busted the evap canister pressure sensor off, and managed to crack the canister housing that is Conveniently located next to the passenger side hitch install location. Not a cheap fix... Also found the +12v wire (for the trailer plug) ran under the car to my battery, was melted to my exhaust that it was wrapped around several times. Good thing his wiring kit had a fuse in it to prevent further damage to my vehicle. If you need a hitch installed, please save yourself the headache and money... Go elsewhere

Had a hitch and trailer light wire harness installed. 80% plastic inserts that hold the removable panels were busted out and now all they do is rattle going down the road. Also, the tech who installed the harness cut through plastic instead of running the harness out of place it is designed for. Two stars for the nice service desk person.

Made a hitch installation appointment weeks in advance. Appointment was cancelled day-of because they didn't have the parts. In the days that follow, after hours navigating call trees and nationwide customer support, it's revealed that the parts won't be coming anytime soon. But they're happy to help me last minute reschedule my 2500 mile move..... -_-It's a really bad experience to book installations when the parts are clearly on long-term backorder. I feel lied to and utterly screwed over. Guess I'll just demand my refund and badmouth U-Haul forevermore. :'(

I made an online appointment to get a trailer hitch put on my vehicle. The team working that day was efficient and friendly. They showed me an area to wait for my vehicle and let me know they would update me when it was done, estimated to be done in about an hour. Less than a 1/2 hour later I had the warranty in my hand and was out the door!
