Wayyyy overcrowded at all hours considering what they charge for membership, and 90% of the equipment is cardio machines

Had to bring it back down after having trying to call them two weeks in a row past 9:00 only by a few minutes when they are actually still open until midnight but their phone system won’t allow phone calls past 9:00. Really just trying to figure out about the bike class tomorrow morning but can’t and it’s not online last I check. Gotta improve on the communication. All great otherwise now that steam is fixed but the men’s locker room could always be looking clear in the showers tbh

Make sure you cancel 15 days in advance before your last month. If you do not, they make you pay a full month and do not prorate you any days. However, they have no problem charging & prorating when you sign up for a membership, which tells me they have the ability to do so just not to be fair to their loyal guests.

With how expensive the memberships are and how much revenue this gym produces, the equipment is absolutely minimalistic. The weights are several different brands and shapes which causes issues, as well as the absolute lack of lifting equipment. 90% cardio equipment 10% resistance equipment is not conducive to a gym this size

I was with my senior night at the Y we were there until 4 AM we went to go into the pool and I asked the guy can we use the other side or do we have to stay here he goes do you see a lifeguard on the other side? I said no he goes hahaha I guess you can't then which is rude especially from an employee who was asked a simple yes or no question. then the guy told me it was 10 push-ups Or I had to pay him 20 bucks to go on the slide. He only said this to me. no one else and I went down feet first I came out and I folded coming out and he said I told you feet first and I said I did an he called me a lier and that next time it's 30 push ups to go down the slide and if I do it again I'm done with the pool overall everyone else was nice and I dont understand why a lifeguard would talk to someone like that very unprofessional and ruined my last night with my senior class

My six year old boy and I love playing racquetball, and we’ve tried multiple times to play at this YMCA after school. I stopped by earlier in the day to sign up for a court, 4 o’clock is the only time we can really play because he’s a child and can’t stay up late after school. When we showed up for our court, five minutes in a league player came and tried to kick us out. I told him we had signed up, he came back five minutes later with the staff and told us we had to stop. They let us play on the squash court, but it was pretty frustrating. Now I come to sign up again, and they say , the leagues, get all the courts at 4 o’clock for the rest of the day. Now I have to disappoint my son, due to changing standards, and miscommunication. The staff today was not very enthusiastic about trying to figure it out, or help us out at all either. I was assured after the first incident that leagues wouldn’t start till later, so that kids would get a chance to play.

Cons: no towels, closed rock climbing wall, closed waterslides, app they use isn't available, found 3 large floating clumps of curly hair swirling around in the hot tubPros: 2 pools so kids don't get in the way of laps, good parking options, kids have own locker rooms (although one mom brought her son into womens), plenty of room to change, swimsuit dryer, they have a variety of workout accessories you can borrow

pros: everyone i've met here has been nice and friendly and the staff/other members genuinely want to help you, it's pretty clean you regularly see people cleaning equipment, vacuuming, plus other members are pretty good about wiping stuff down after using itcons: if you go anytime in the evening good luck. parking will be a nightmare and you won't be able to get a full workout in. no towels but that's not a big deal, just bring your own imo. but mostly the whole place is kinda... outdated for the price they chargeoverall would recommend unless you workout in the evening

Staff is phenomenal especially front desk group. Very nice large facility. Walking and running track has decent views on all four sides. Tons of equipment and free weights. Cardio stuff too. Big lockers with shelves in men's locker room. Locker room has decent space between rows and no terminal rows.

Love the facility, but not enough parking. Without a parking attendant they can’t control the giant trucks that park in the lot, take up 2 spaces and stick out into the lanes waiting to be grazed by passing cars. The front desk says nothing they can do. Apparently they aren’t concerned with the safety of their members.

Dirty lockers, filthy whirlpool (watch out for burning smell of chlorine and floating brown filth in the water), not very friendly staff, overcrowded, and overpriced (for the condition of the facility). I do NOT recommend. Planet fitness is cheap and doesn’t have all the amenities but at least they are very clean!

I've been a Y member for many years, first in the Lansing area and then here in greater GR for the last five years or so. This is my favorite branch by far. The view from upstairs of the city is nice if you're running the track or lifting. The class schedule is great with amazing instructors, I do occasional yoga and lots of BodyCombat and BodyPump but there are tons of other classes. The pool area is nice and there is a hot tub by the family pool and also one in the locker room which I think is really convenient. The platform for deadlifting is tucked away from the rest of the weightlifting equipment which I like because I hate drawing attention if I'm noisy. The fees are so reasonable considering all you get, classes and childcare are included. Literally my only complaint I have is that they got rid of towel service. (Please bring that back if you are reading this!!) Overall I am extremely happy and would recommend to anyone.

Can't believe they want to charge me 90 bucks a month for the stinkiest nastiest run down gym I have ever seen. None of the equipment is ever clean not even if you're one of the first people there. Meaning tye night before, they don't clean it!?!?!? ?? smells like dying rodents in there. Also way over crowded with a hundred kids and teens running around calling rude you names for no reason. No manners in this entire place staff and customers. Never ever would I recommend this place. You get looked at if you ask the staff politely todo anything. What a joke.
