This is the classic off-the-beaten-path kind of place. A true gem.

This place was a very pleasant surprise and a very informative museum. The Lost Railroad refers to the interurban passenger system that once ran across the bottom of southern Michigan from Lake Erie to Lake Michigan. The virtual train ride was a hoot and a half. This is not a expansive place but we spent a leisurely hour there wondering through the museum, watching an introduction video, viewing the exhibits and riding the Virtual train. Very fun! There is no admission or even a suggested donation but it seems to me five to ten bucks a head would go a long way to keep the lights and heat on here. The team of Lost RR volunteers should be proud of what they have accomplished! Whole heartedly FIVE STARS!

Great little museum, definitely a worthwhile stop. Lots of great information, excellent staff, the time out into it is obvious and the simulation was pretty neat.

This is really a hidden gem and well beyond my expectation for a small museum in a small town. The historical station and trains are very interesting. The simulated train ride is a must and quite realistic with jolting.

A fantastic little museum that has a rich history of the urban rail. Not only are there a lot of interactive lessons showing how transportation changed drastically in the early 1900s, but you were able to step aboard some of the expertly restored urban railcars. The staff at the museum were incredibly kind and the museum itself was great.

Great details. It's a small museum packed with information and a virtual train ride in a rebuilt train car.

It's a small museum but it's full of interesting displays and interactive pieces. My son and I really enjoyed everything there was too see and do. The guide was really excited to show us everything and he was really knowledgeable of both the history and the work behind how everything was put together for the displays. We'll definitely be back when we're in town!

This place was awesome and so full of History I just loved it! The only thing that happened to me personally that I didn't enjoy it was the trolley "ride" made me sea sick ? but I wouldn't let it stop me. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is interested in history!

Very friendly staff. Lots of fun! A small museum, but my kids wanted to see everything twice. I recommend following your visit with a coffee and snack at the Roaming Goat coffee shop down the street.

Very small museum, but informative. The gentleman at the front desk was so friendly and knowledgeable. You can spend about 30 to 40 minutes here then head on over to The Deer Museum and finish up with a pizza from Thompsons in Chelsea or Klavons in Jackson-both have great pizza and customer service.

So well done. A dose of both railroad and local history. Two interurban cars. One with a simulated ride from Jackson to Brooklyn. I stopped because I had heard about the museum. I only had a half hour to spare and didn't expect them to have so much. I plan to go back.Cute town too.

Cute little museum with a ton of fun history. Nothing massive, but you get a very nice glimpse into life at the turn of the century. They have a few train cars that are mid-restoration and very well restored. There's a very kind and knowledgeable curator who spent a lot of time with my family explaining everything. Free (buy donate, please!) and worth an hour of your day.
