Dayton did a great job delivering my package. Both the woman that set up the delivery and the delivery man were so helpful and friendly. Great Job!!

delivery driver refused to deliver delivery. Just kept making excuses not to do delivery. he is the only delivery driver that can't back up into my driveway with a 40' semi. don't know why not whe all the other 40' semi delivery drivers were able to. and the driver gave me nothing but attitude from the moment he arrived.

I bought a new furnace and it was delivered to Dayton. They were afraid they would have trouble getting a big truck down our road. Smart conclusion. I picked it up and they were super friendly and loaded it for me! Great folks!!

Terrible. They not only took 3 weeks to get items from detroit to Northern Michigan, but they also finally scheduled the item for Tuesday, then just never showed up without calling to reschedule. No apology. This crew is D class

The office contacted me in advance and gave me several days to choose from for the oversized delivery. The driver contacted me in advance the day of the delivery to see if I was ready. Steve was the driver and he was awesome! Very friendly and gave me plenty of time to inspect everything for damage, very important because it was a custom built aquarium. My fragile delivery showed up in just as good of condition as when it left the factory, and it was great customer service. Very happy customer here.

Terrible experience with this company! Started out with a conversation with Julia who was very curt when I tried to understand how my products would be delivered. We spent 15 minutes talking about the details because our items were heavy and large and I am a 5’ girl. Julia said they were only required to deliver to our door, unless there were steps, then just to the driveway, and would not even move it into our cleared garage so I could get it to a protected area. Skeptically, I scheduled the delivery with them in spite of the limited services they were willing to offer because I didn’t see any other option at the moment. Sadly, things got worse. The company called the next day ready to deliver our items...in their 18 wheel semi (Julia never mention this or asked any questions about where we live). The driver, Richard, who was very kind and professional, required a two lane driveway that had enough space to turn a semi around in. Really? It seems like that would have been worth mentioning. We live in a residential area, up a windy hill, right off a major highway, with a 4 car garage area with ample turn around area for most trucks (FedEx, UPS, etc.) but a semi?! I don’t know many residential locations where this criteria would be met. We told them this would not work (shouldn’t they have looked this up on Google Maps?!) and did they have a smaller truck that could fit up our driveway?....the answer was no. The only other size truck they had was a flat bed which is also too big to get up our driveway. The manager, Nick, wanted to drop our 400lb, 7’ long palette off along the highway so we could load it into and out of our pick up truck (if we had one) ourselves. They said they would not help us with any of this. What I later learned, and Nick neglected to mention, was that once they dropped the palette off, they were no longer responsible for any damage that might occur getting it to the top of our driveway or any injuries that might happen to us trying to do this. When we asked them if they could have another carrier with a smaller truck bring it to the top of our driveway, they told us we would have to pay for it. In my opinion, Dayton Freight should have chalked this up as lessons learned, and paid for another delivery company to come and take care of us as soon as possible. That is not what happened. Instead we were left with no information and no plan at the end of the day. Keep in mind that this freight company was selected by the manufacturer who was providing replacement products for us because the first delivery of their product came damaged from another delivery company. All in all, if you need to have something delivered to your residence, unless you are prepared to deal with this type of poor customer service and have space for a full size semi to turn around in your driveway, I would never recommend them.
