Went crate digging for used records with my son and he was very pleased with the variety here - heavy on the EDM/electronic. He noted that it was very well curated. He purchased several records but I left with none - I did buy a cool Detroit Threads hoodie as a souvenir. This is a crusty but cool place that looks like what ever comes in stays around until somebody buys it. There are used clothes and other odds and ends. The owner likely lives and works here as a lifestyle. It’s worth exploring but if you want a polished record buying experience you probably don’t want to visit. I dug it however.

Detroit Threads is a cool little shop in Hamtramck on Jos Campau. The store is packed with vinyl to dig through while the DJ spins some tunes. There is also vintage clothes and housewares throughout the store. There is some vintage Detroit swag in the cases. Be sure to check out the amazing Detroit techno T-shirts & Polish/Hamtramck tees on the rack- I assume made in house.

Had an N95 mask on and could still smell the must and dust. That’s the smell of a good thrift/record/DJ store. Old stuff, new stuff, weird stuff, and things that go bump in the night, it’s all here. I wish I had a whole day to spend here. Some guy was listening to records and another that I thought worked there was recommending records to him. I asked for a specific size and he went and found it for me. Later at a bar, turns out he doesn’t work there but spends a lot of time hanging out. That’s a great place when people that aren’t getting paid want to work for free.Go, rummage but take your antihistamines first.

Hands down one of the best record stores in America and for it's specialty, electronic music from Detroit and the Midwest, likely one of the best in the world. I have been to Hardwax and around Europe and this has become my home store and always well be. Dig. Dig. Dig.

Known about the place since late 90s, been there maybe 5x max, and never because i wanted to, usually b/c of tickets being sold there or being dragged there by some yuppie. Employee's are all arrogant, entitled, RUDE, wanna-be elitists. For a scene that preaches peace, acceptance, love, community--they dont encourage or illustrate any of these.
