I have sampled many, yet Kowalski brand macaroni salad remains top tier.KFC stopped selling macaroni salad, which made me search for a suitable alternative. Kowalski brand macaroni salad is the best. I often purchase from stores such as Stan's Market. This macaroni salad is by and far the best I have had.”

“It's definitely your old-time general store in its setup continued into the modern day. Love the selection of meats and cheeses, never a disappointment when I want to try out something new or different. They always have specials going on that are hand written on the cooler door behind the counter. Even letting you get a tasting of what they are offering for that day.
If it's your first time checking this place out. There are a couple of printouts for their meats and cheeses, respectively, sitting in pockets on the support pole by the counter. Thumbing through it, you will be amazed at all they offer. Not just local or domestic but regional from around the world.
This is the only place I get my Parmigiano or Parmigiano Reggiano from. You can even see that the wheel they cut it from has the required stippling on the rind so that you know it's authentic.”
“With variety beef cuts being difficult to find, this is a MUST stop. Ronnie's is usually my spot for beef ribs, brisket etc. While Randy's is the everything you need sausage spot. Definitely a Detroit staple.”

“They have a very solid selection of high-quality meats at fair prices. For specialty meats, like a pork butt for smoking pork, just call ahead and they're always nice about it.
But more than that, the staff is INCREDIBLY friendly and helpful. From the checkout clerk to the guys behind the meat counter, they are all genuinely kind people. They are patient and will answer any of your questions you have about their meats and the best way to prepare them. I always look forward to stopping in their store.”

“Subhanallah, my husband and I actually came across this store by accident because we were leaving another meat store that had a long line and we didn’t want to wait in the cold. At first we were skeptical. If it’s your first time going it can be confusing. You go in through the big medal door. You just pull it and walk right into a slaughterhouse. It’s definitely cold and loud but overall pretty great. One of the guys walked us through the whole process and took his time advising us on what to get and asking how we wanted each part of the lamb cut. We ended up getting at 37.5lb baby lamb for around $300.”

“What a great find. I just had the best steak I've ever had, and I have had a lot, being that I travel across North America for business and have eaten in some of the top steak houses in the country. I had a special day to celebrate, and I called them to have a couple of Wagyu NY strips cut to 2" - Ken was happy to help me out and they were amazing. “Our first time here, and everyone was so helpful. We bought a whole Sirloin (8 or 9 steaks) with the Brazilian top cut (8/9 steaks). The butcher sliced everything perfect for us. We also bought pork chops(8 beautiful ones), and 5 lbs Bacon.The cost was so reasonable and their meats were perfect looking. As soon as we got home, my husband cooked up some slices of beef sirloin and the taste was phenomenal! So good, melt in your mouth! First in quality, Flavor. Price!”

“The best fresh produce in Ferndale. The meat counter simply can't be beat. I dislike the redesign that brought all the prepacked items and that almost forces you to only use the self check out. I don't work there; if I have to check myself out and bag everything I should get a discount! It takes away the friendly faces and personalization of a community market.”

“Buy Dave's breakfast links at Nino Salvaggio's in Cinton Twp. Best breakfast sausage we've ever had. The casings they use are edible (not tough). Perfect size. I make a 2 hour drive to get the sausage (among other things at Ninos). Buy in bulk and freeze. Excellent product.”
