Thrift Stores
“Keweenaw Consignment in Houghton is hands down one of the best consignment stores I’ve visited, and it’s the kind of place that makes you excited to shop secondhand. The first thing that impressed me was how many awesome things they had in stock, and it’s all actually good quality stuff you’d want to use or wear, not just random clutter. Everything is always priced exactly how I would price it myself, which means it’s fair, reasonable, and you feel like you’re getting a good deal on quality items. It’s refreshing to find a place where the pricing makes sense, and you can walk out with a bag full of great finds without breaking the bank. During my visit, I found a pair of swim shorts, a nice dress shirt, and even a hi-viz vest, which was funny but also super practical. The variety of items available is impressive, covering clothes, home goods, and other useful things that are in good condition and ready for a second life. The layout of the store makes it easy to browse without feeling overwhelmed, and it’s organized in a way that makes hunting for treasures fun. The staff was friendly and let you browse comfortably while being ready to help if you needed anything. Keweenaw Consignment is a place I will definitely return to every time I’m in the area because it’s a fun spot to find quality, practical, and sometimes quirky items that fit perfectly into your life. If you love a good deal and the excitement of finding unexpected treasures, this is a must-visit shop in Houghton. You won’t be disappointed, and you might find yourself coming back again and again to see what’s new.”
“This place is my first stop for anything for household or projects. Just got a mini cabinet with countertop for $4.95, a mint lazyboy for $60 and a couch in great condition for $99. You can't lose, And a good cause. Also I bring them any items which are not needed but still have life in them. Just ask them if they want it, and they'll take a lot of stuff! For example old radios are in demand just for the obsolete tubes.”
“I love great Thrift shops we have a few local ones. Our GW is well organized and I always find a reassure or two or ten. Lol, I think it helps to recycle used items and reduce waste at the same time.”
“Well organized thrift store with lots to choose from. The staff are very friendly. Prices are very reasonable; I can always find something here. There are fitting rooms for trying on clothes, and a basement level with furniture for sale.”
