AmeriGas Propane has been my propane source for the past two years. I realized last March that I was being price gouged pretty significantly with their propane rates being $1-2/gallon more than competitors. I was also on their auto-fill plan where they came out occasionally when passing through. They came 3 times in 3 months when I already had plenty of fuel, which means I incurred nearly $1,000 worth of fuel and fees I did not need at the time.
I called AmeriGas to inquire and was offered a $1/gallon refund for the last delivery which was 222 gallons.
Fast forward nearly 1 year later, over 10 calls to ask when that credit/refund would be landing in my account, being told 5 times by reps not to pay the bill because my credit “should be applied soon.” Run around after run around after run around. Last month I received a collections bill. I disputed it and shared all my documentation. The dispute case was closed and I was told to pay the bill.
I paid the bill on 2/6/25, nearly a year after all this ridiculousness. Today, I emailed the VP of AmeriGas to share my story and that as of today, I will be a Crystal Flash customer. $1.64/gallon for propane for 15 months, free tank rental and if I ever decide to change service, $75 tank removal and refund of unused fuel.
I received a call within one hour from AmeriGas sharing that my $222 refund check will be cut today, the tank removal fee will be waived and I received an apology, but also with the excuse, “we have customer service changes taking place and change takes time.” That is absolutely an excuse. It does not take 1 year for you to train your team on customer service best practices.

This company is a complete rip off, I canceled service more than a year ago and called numerous times trying to get my tanks picked up, for them to show up to my house unexpectedly trying to drive their truck across my yard with sprinklers. After picking the tanks up they billed me $5,000 for tanks that they had in their possession. They refused to give me credit for the tanks they had loaded on their truck. I will be filing a lawsuit against them. The pictures show the proof of the tanks being picked up. This is a horrible company to do business with, A COMPLETE RIPOFF.

They are very respectful of their surroundings. Quietly refilled the tank and left no visible signs of their presence. (Other than the slip in the door as expected).

I was stood up multiple times for a service appointment. I was repeatedly told on the phone that someone would call me back and no one ever did. I called 12-15 times following up for the same issue and it never got resolved. I eventually switched to a local propane company. I would not recommend AmeriGas to anyone for propane.

I have been waiting 8 weeks for someone to call me about a new gas line for a generator. Not one person has reached out through email or a phone call. That is all I am asking for: a conversation . This is just a typical experience with AmeriGas. In the past 10 years, every delivery of bill has had an issue. If I could use another propane provider I would.

Waited TWO MONTHS in the middle of winter, from December 30th until February 28th to get propane hooked up for heat. Then they want to charge me for that visit? While my electric bill is through the roof from trying to keep my pipes from freezing with space heaters?? No. Very VERY dissatisfied with this company and when this tank runs out, I will be switching to someone more reliable.

I've had excellent, prompt service from AmeriGas. I order will-call through the website, and delivery time averages about 5 days.

Amerigas used to be a great company when it had LOCAL business you could go to and LOCAL people you could talk to now it is outsourced to India and they are beyond HORRIFIC. Never showed up to delivered gas and we went without for two weeks, ran out during blizzard Ellitto and had to go without heat for two full days until we talked to an American supervisor who FINALLY got us some gas. Absolutely disgusted with this company now.

Terrible customer service. Can't talk to an American, customer service calls you are talking to a Chinese person who doesn't understand. I've been calling for propane delivery For the past month and I'm still waiting, my tank is getting low and it's the end of December. Delivery is difficult when there is snow cuz we are on a steep hill so trying to schedule when no snow is in the driveway, so far unsuccessfully. Would be nice to talk to actual American so they can comprehend what we are saying.

Terrible service ran out of Gas last December they forgot about me 5 days later and 18 calls they tell me they filled tank but my tank is still empty no heat or hot water another 21 call and two day they fill it. Been on auto pay 20+ years no ,iam sorry nothing they just sent a bill I hope they print iam not the first I hope this doesn't happen to you

Absolutely the most scamming busniess ive delt with, trying to charge me $260 to pick up the tank on my property after i moved in, would not recomend to my worst enemy

The company is absolutely horrible. Every person you talk to says something different. Their Amerilock program is a joke. Their prices are way more expensive than other business around them. Will not match any price!!!! I will be taking my business somewhere else!
