I would like to take this opportunity to dispute the negative review by Mr. Sonderegger. I attended both days of that auction and I cannot speak about Mr. Patient bringing things that were not theirs, but I CAN speak about the ruined lawns. This was a 2-day auction in L'Anse and the weather was HORRIBLE on the first day - it rained practically the whole day and so there was not much that Butch or Judy to do to remedy that - they don't control the weather. I'm not sure how Butch and Judy do their auction contract, but I have had occasion to use an auctioneer in the past and they intend to sell EVERYTHING - even if they have to bundle things together. If you thought that things were "given" away, you should have put a "reserve" price on it. I have had nothing but good dealings with the whole B.Patient auctions and look forward to attending again.

Have ALWAYS had a wonderful experience dealing with Butch and Judy. They are well organized and always fair in their practices. Look forward to every auction we can attend. As far as the negative review they received......who schedules an auction at a time when they have just lost a loved one. Perhaps you were not thinking clearly at all which is why your experience was negative. You should have rescheduled!

Very disrespectful of property. Do not clean up anything after. Broke doorlocks , wrecked lawn, practally gave stuff away. Very poor service. Felt jipped big time. Ripp offs. Brought stuff that wasn't ours, even a car. This is recent. Not trustworthy... Sad

I just noticed BPatient Auction Services received a negative review from someone about 3 months ago. I wasn't at that particular Sale and cannot speak to it's validity. However, remember, there are always Two sides to each story. What I can personally say without reservation is that Butch and Judy run a top-notch operation. They have in the past auctioned my items and I was very pleased with the professionalism from their whole crew. More importantly they operate a Fair and Honest Auction Service. I would not hesitate to use them again or to recommend them to anyone in need of the services they offer. By: Yoopertime Antiques and Estate Sales, Upper Peninsula and Traverse City, MI

Do your homework before hiring. We hired them to auction household contents when moving out of state. They talk a good game but do not want to uphold THEIR guarantees. They came a few days early to collect contents in a central spot. They also guarantee they spend hours to set up attractive displays. They also state they will MOVE everything. In their carelessness to move items they broke a Tiffany cake plate and never said a word until asked about it. Their remark was that it would have only bring ten or fifteen dollarsanyway. Other items were broken without saying anything. When confronted, they tried to say items were already broken. They told us all furniture would be moved downstairs. The day of the auction they decided they would not be moving beds downstairs and that we would be letting attendees tramp through the house upstairs and then once sold, the buyers would have to get someone else to tramp upstairs again and move the beds. We refused to have people tramping upstairs because 1) we were told they would move everything downstairs and 2) we had sold the house and did not want to be responsible for any damage to carpets and walls by others.Their response was that they just wouldn't sell upstairs beds then. Never mind that it is in their advertisement that they move all furniture. They finally moved furniture reluctantly after a shouting match. Their attractive displays never happened. They arrived one hour prior to the auction and threw things on tables. Other boxes they set out in the rain with no protection. Never again. Heed the warnings. For the person who faulted the reviewer for having an auction when their father died, that was when they needed the auction. What a crappy thing to do to blame them. I had no death and got horrible service and professionalism. Interesting to see after I posted the disaster pix they post some showing how IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN for us.

I am the executor of my late father's estate and employed Butch and Judy in June of 2016 to help sell what was left at the house, including a ‘67 Ford Galaxie. While meeting them the first time they told me that “nothing†would be left in the house when they were done, they would clean up behind themselves, and I wouldn't need to worry about anything.

I am the executor of my late father's estate and employed Butch and Judy in June of 2016 to help sell what was left at the house, including a '67 Ford Galaxie. While meeting them the first time they told me that "nothing" would be left in the house when they were done, they would clean up behind themselves, and I wouldn't need to worry about anything. When it came time for the auction, I was met with very different circumstances. They left a lot of things untouched, they missed items they had planned to auction, they didn't even wash or take the Galaxie out of the dark garage...and it did not even get a starting bid!! The auction goers left paper plates, bottles, cans, and cigarette butts all over my yard, which no one cleaned up and the Patient family didn't even remove their own trash from my house (cans, bottles, food wrappers, etc.). They had taped up signs with auction info to the inside and outside of the house both leaving stickum and tearing off varnish finishes upon removal. Some of the large items that sold (pool table, safes, freezer) weren't taken out that day, people were attempting to schedule with me for later pick up dates, all while I was scheduled to have my father's wake at the house that same week. I was left with so much trash and unsold items after the auction was over I had to hire a dumpster service and men to help me load it. A time I had planned to spend with my family, grieve the loss of my father, have his wake, and obtain closure. I truly feel they abused my position, exaggerated the extent the auction would help clean out and clean up, disrespected my home and its value, and still took their full commission. I would not recommend them to help with any estate auction! Please feel free to contact me if you have any specific questions regarding my experience.
