I have never had a bank with such incredibly poor policies, poor management, and literally cost me over $1,300 because of their negligence and not doing what they are supposed to do. They were nice enough at first, but they made it very plain they did not like having a senior for a customer. I waited for over a total of six (6) months for them to send me checks and I still have not received them to date. The first time they said it would take about three (3) weeks. I kept checking my mail and after four (4) or (5) weeks when they didn't arrive I went to the bank and told ****, I think she's the manager. She said they would send them expedited and I would receive them in three (3) or (4) days. I waited about ten (10) days and did not receive them. While I was waiting for the checks that never arrived, I had no way to pay some bills without making a trip to ******* and having a money order made out. Then I had to mail the money orders to the right place. This was very time consuming. Because the mail is slow on top of it all, I started getting late charges -- big ones. I am on social security and I cannot afford this. My account was suddenly being scammed. I went to the bank and talked to ***. She made out a new debit card. I then had to contact everyone on auto pay and give them the debit card number. I talked to **** and she said they would reorder the checks and have them sent to the bank, about three (3) or four (4) days to arrive and I could pick them up there. AGAIN, no checks. Several weeks passed. They changed my account number and debit card. I was getting more late charges and scams. They made it so I couldn't even look at my account online. I told ****, I HAVE TO BE ABLE TO SEE MY ACCOUNT. Then the fourth lie came yet again. **** said I could get $ orders from the bank. My daughter tried to help. We were on a conference call with ****. In a rude voice, she said they didn't have time to help me. I'm changing banks this week.

We have been HCB account holders since 1971. We wanted to purchase our first house, and HCB was the only local bank willing to grant us a mortgage. During these 52 years we have sought and received car loans as well as assistance and counsel re: financial planning for retirement. Service has always been at A+ level, whether at the teller window or in one of the offices or online. That level was clearly demonstrated last year when our checking accounts needed to be rapidly closed and new ones opened, due to a scam attempt. We were very grateful for the promptness and efficiency of staff responses. We're glad to be HCB customers!

I have had a good business relationship with HCB for more than three decades now. The management and officers are quite community-oriented, pro-active for the customer's interests and benefit. I really don't understand the negative reviews, but bankers sometimes have to say "no".

This bank is now Highpoint Bank. I have a lot of concerns in regards to this bank. Rude and incompetent. I would take my business elsewhere.

They stole money from my 4H kids with stupid pointless fees. A $15 dormant fee was taken and 4H has been shut down due to covid so obviously we haven’t spent any money or made any. They refused to refund it unless I made a deposit. Closed the account down, minus the $20 that I will donate back to my kiddos myself.

I only gave this place one star because I had to. Would not recommend Tim Kelly or this bank. My husband and I tried getting a loan in my husband’s name. We were referred to Tim Kelly, HORRIBLE experience! He wasted our time! Took over a week to take the very first step in the loan process, didn’t even try to work with us, horrible communication, and to top it off ran my credit WITHOUT my authorization!!!! My advice would be to find a different bank to work with!

Tim Kelly was very unprofessional. I would never recommend him to anyone. My husband and I tried contacting him about a loan, wanting to put the loan in my husband’s name. He took over a week to get back with us, he did not try working with us, AND he ran MY credit unauthorized!!!!! I never signed a single document nor wished for my credit to be ran yet I get a document in the mail showing me he had in fact ran my credit. Will never return to this bank for anything! Horrible experience with him!

I have been banking at this establishment since 1993. It used to be known as Hastings City Bank. I have had personal loans over the years and never had a problem. I have always been treated with respect and I love the friendliness of small town banking.

It is absolutely unacceptable that a transaction is processed successfully on a saturday morning/early afternoon, but then around 4 pm my card is suddenly declined, after the bank closes, with no notification, and no access to my funds. I will be closing my account as soon as possible, as this is not the first time this has happened.

We (Miller Real Estate) applied for a PPP Loan with HCB. Unchartered territory for all of us. The effort put in by HCB staff including Rob and Tim was nothing short of AMAZING!!! Dedication to your customers was clear. We haven’t had a business loan in years and they didn’t care about that. I’ve heard other lenders prioritize their current lending customers vs just deposit customers leaving many without a PPP Loan. NOT HCB!!!!! They contacted us from the bank on that Saturday evening at 7pm and again the next Sunday morning as they where hammering out the applications. HCB this customer you have is For Life!!!!! Way to go!
