Hazel Park PO is great, especially my post man, Andrew! Really goes the extra mile!

Went in to apply for a passport. The woman there was rude from the moment I said what I was there for - as if anything more than routine mailing was above her pay grade. I had secondary documents to prove citizenship as I wasn't inherently comfortable mailing out my original birth certificate. She wouldn't even look at them and was entirely unsympathetic about the situation. Just walked away when she was done talking, didn't say sorry or even goodbye. Super weird and passive aggressive interaction.

As far as post offices go this one isn't so bad. I typically see the same post office worker at the counter and she always seems super helpful and very friendly. Perhaps the biggest gripe about this location is that there's very little parking and when you have to walk to the front of the door it's the same way people drive in.

They have a parking lot, and are usually not busy all the time

I know that USPS is a service, and a necessary one at that- but with the world on fire and everyone in search of jobs.. can they hire some friendly and helpful people here? I almost thought I was on a hidden camera show, that was trying to see how long I could last without exploding. The front desk person I had was quick, rude, and expected me to know the answer to all of the questions I had.

Nonexistent customer serviceI came to this location to mail an envelope and had a couple of older stamps I wanted to use. Waited 15 minutes in line, and when my turn came, I was ready to pay the remaining amount in postage and asked the clerk if she had some glue or tape to help affix my stamps to the envelope, since the adhesive was old. She ignored my question and kept repeating "just put them on!" essentially told me to leave and said to come back when I have the stamps on the envelope.Lesson learned; don't waste your time at this location, stay at home and use USPS online.

9/11/20...just came from here this morning. Walked in with a gentleman waiting (so I was 2nd). He rang the bell again that states only need ring one time. But I can barely hear the bell standing behind him! Let alone over the laughter and talking in back. A couple more people came in. Still no one. So the guy rang it several times but the bell is probably muffled by the taped sign on it. FINALLY someone walked by, her mask under her chin as she serviced people. Not very friendly (what happen to hearing all that laughter earlier?). The worker rang another bell eventually for more help. She wasn't wearing a mask at all. I don't mind stopping at this one for convenience but service lacked today.

They won't help you out. Pathetic customer service.. Go to the USPS on mound road instead.

I would strongly advise avoiding USPS. This location is Extraordinarily pathetic. My packages manage to get from California to Michigan in 2 days consistently, then sit for up to a week in Hazel Park. USPS is a terribly inefficient federal system that can’t even track a package let alone meet a delivery date. About 2/3rds of my packages are lost at some point and I have to launch investigations with often no results. Pretty pathetic that UPS, not to be confused with USPS, can accurately track all my packages and meet there expected delivery times but a federally back system cannot. I only wish I had the time and resources to get back all the money that the USPS have cost me. USPS is a joke.

I want to thank those two ladies that are working every Saturday. I brought them some time Hortons donuts to thank them but they deserve a huge raise. They have smiles and Patience.

Friendly not too long of a wait. Front desk workers were majority nice, one clerk seemed to be annoyed at the customer they were helping but the others were great.

This was one of the best post office experiences I've ever had. I was helped by Jade, who was patient, professional, friendly and very funny. This is the first time I didn't feel like i was inconveniencing someone at the post office. I was in and out fairly quickly and it was a very easy process with her help. Pleasantly surprised and looking forward to mailing my other shipments here.
