I just want to thank Robin, I have had some issues with an account a few months back and I had talked to someone else previously and they were not kind or friendly on the phone which was quite upsetting. But, I had to get this issue resolved and I had reached Robin. She was so kind and sweet. I also reached out to LMCU again today and got her on the phone again and she was so kind, she listened, wasn’t talking over me. I just really want to express my appreciation and give her a shout out. Thank you so much!

I generally enjoy banking here, but today I found out I was lied to about my insurance policy and I think that's a pretty inappropriate thing to do to a customer.

$5 charge per check when you’re the bank that issued it? Seriously? It took 10 min to cash 2 checks through the drive thru. I shut my car off to not waste gas.

Laura Veldhouse has zero concerns that we will leave with our personal loans and mortgage with LMCU to pursue Choice One because I needed follow up from her.I tried bringing over my business checking from Chase, and while I put her up against Bank of America, I gave her the bid since we already have savings, checking, and mortgage with LMCU.Lack of follow up is something that can't happen in business banking. But NOW I suddenly have a bank account in my business name!? This relationship was to be dissolved weeks ago.LMCU will lose all our personal accounts (auto, savings, mortgage) because Laura couldn't communicate or neither could her "business guru expert" at Leonard which also never reached out. It may only be $200,000.00 in my Chase business account, but at least Chase would answer my questions and follow up. Sorry I'm not big enough - or have enough accounts with you - to be any type of priority or valueAnd to think: we accepted a higher interest payment on our mortgage vs the other proposals because of already having personal checking and savings accounts here. I'll happily pay new closing costs on our mortgage to not deal with people like your "business" department ever again.~Guglielmi Family, Grand Rapids

The 8th St., Holland branch is the best. They are so nice and polite. I used to come through the drive through with my dog in our old convertible and when they heard that he had passed, they gave me a coffee cup with his picture on it as well as a card signed by everyone inside, it made me cry. I was so touched. I am a customer for life, they are a top-notch Credit Union. My whole family uses them for our home loans, and will not hesitate to use them in the future.

If your going to be a part of the credit union family then offer other credit union members the benefits we offer your members. In a long line to get money from the ATM between two cars so I can't quickly leave to find out you charge a $3.00 "convince fee". An inconvenience fee for being a member of the credit union family where members are able to typically use your ATM for services. You should be ashamed. Just take credit union off the name and call yourself a bank.

I'm newer to LMCU, but have found their services and systems on par with other credit unions and banks. However, I do rank their customer service higher in general. This branch specifically is top notch! I had a really tricky situation with some of my accounts this week and they were kind and solution-oriented. Love LMCU.

Relocated to MI and needed a bank. LMCU came highly rated so I began the process to open a checking account. My mistake was to apply online. The response back was that my SS# did not match so I was asked to supply other verifications. I stopped into the Holland branch, whom was very helpful in uploading documents that should have helped complete the process. Alexandra was the person I communicated with through email, who denied all my attempts to open a checking account, eventually telling me that if I had applied in person, I would not have had an issue. She did not understand that I was in fact in town. To make a very frustrating story short, my husband and I made an appt to open the account in person. The process was friendly and successful. What I don't understand was that I was told my SS# did not match and when I was there in person, they had my correct SS# and it was no problem to open an account. It appeared to me, a clear attempt to deny me because she thought I was out of town and seemed like she was making up false reasons to deny me. Alexandra made what should have been an easy business transaction difficult only because she thought I was not in town to do this in person. This business almost missed out on a very large transaction as we has just sold our home and I wanted to business with a local bank. I just want people to be aware that even though you can apply for an account online and be from out of state, you will not be judged fairly. This woman left a very bad taste in my mouth.

I read the most recent review & it is correct. This credit union is terrible. Do not bank with these guys. They hold your mobile deposit for a week. Customer Service is only available during certain hours. Have a problem on a Sunday? You're out of luck.

I wish I could give them no stars..absolutely the worst financial institution I have ever had the displeasure to be apart of hands down.. they keep direct deposits pending for days,they doubled me down on duplicate fees, and wait till 3-4am to post deposits they had for days the day it supposed to be posted..I'm leaving finding somebody better..
