The Hampton Inn & Suites Houghton is a very nice hotel, noted as one of the best Hampton Inn locations by guests. The property is pretty new and features excellent maintenance, looking as if it just opened. It is located across the street from Portage Lake, offering beautiful water and river views from the rooms, which are described as spacious, huge, clean, and quiet. The hotel is newly remodeled and impressively clean. A standout feature is the observatory lounge, a beautiful bar and restaurant on the top floor with a spectacular view. The bar serves excellent drinks with skilled and professional service. The hotel also has a pool and laundry facilities. The breakfast service offers a variety including hot eggs, sausage, red-skinned potatoes, a waffle maker, fresh fruit, yogurt, and cereal. The area has plenty to do within walking distance. The service is consistently described as amazing. The staff is super friendly, helpful, personable, and accommodating. Staff members provide helpful advice and check in with guests to ensure everything is okay. This exceptional service from the employees is frequently highlighted as the best part of the stay. A minor noted downside was a temporary staffing issue that affected food service at the bar. Overall, guests report a nearly perfect stay and express a definite intent to return.

Very clean, modern, and spacious rooms. Bed was very comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff. I'm happy that I got the chance to stay here and hope that I get the chance to do so again. Thank you!!
