This was our first time ever trying pasties! We had the chicken and cheddar one, and it was good. We also had a couple cookies and grilled cheese sandwich...all yummy! The restaurant had a nice view and the staff were all friendly. Clean restroom.

My husband and I love Roy's, the breakfast pasty and scones are our FAVORITE! But what really takes the cake (literally) were these adorable cupcakes they made for my son's 3rd birthday. So much attention to detail and they were so delicious! ? Such a wonderful business for our small town.

We ordered traditional pasties. You must serve yourself in getting a plate, napkin, plastic tableware, ketchup, etc.Parking: We parked a few blocks away during the winter carnival preparation since some streets were blocked. We walked along the river walk to get there. It was convenient.

Best Pasty I've had in a long time. Nice little indoor dining area, great wait staff, and lots of delious bakery choices.

I consider myself a traditionalist when it comes to pasties and the ingredients used, and Roy's traditional pasties are really yummy, with an excellent crust. However a friend convinced me to try Roy's"pasty with a kick", and boy I'm glad I did! The little kick of spicy heat and flavor from jalapenos and hot sauce are just right, and not overpowering. I highly recommend both!

The goodies sell out fast at Roy's, so get there early and often. Eat in or take out their great pasties and other bakery treats. Nice view of the bridge and canal. The staff are friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. Enjoy.

I ordered a carrot cake for a birthday party. It was $40 and could feed 8. The taste of the cake was good. It was moist. The cream cheese frosting was as sweet as I wanted it. Where I was disappointed was the decoration of the cake. The writing was completely off center. Part of the icing had begun to crack when I picked up the cake. You can see it at the W of farewell. I could tell that blue icing had been squished into the white at the Y in Kyle. I got a cake from a bakery because I wanted it to be decorated by a professional. I could have baked my own cake, but I paid $40 for a nice looking one. What I got is not professional looking at all. I will not be ordering birthday cakes from Roy's anymore.

Great overall place, you can definitely get the pastie you want, just don't come too late. They have other stuff, but who wants anything but a pastie?

The setting is nice but I agree with the professional food critic who said the food is like licking a salt lick. The nastiness of the staff eclipses everything, though. I do not recommend this place for your body or soul. The woman who looks like a Walmart version of Dolly guesting on the Hallmark Channel with drug store make up who is married to the poor owner is abusive and has a glaring personality disorder. She is toxic and barely literate, I feel sorry for anyone who interacts with her in any capacity. I always heard she’s hated by most of her family and employees and now see why given the way she personally attacks and argues with everyone who attempts to have a respectful dialogue with her. Her superiority complex is certainly baseless. She has no stress or frustration management skills; she is one of the most repugnant humans I have encountered in the restaurant or food service industry. I’ve seen higher functioning and more polished prisoners incarcerated for violent felonies released to work in prison dining hallls. The food is overall subpar, tasteless except for salt, and would be even if sold at discounted prices. There’s no food item worth the malevolence you get from the business troll and orally aggressive sea witch who behaves like an entitled cartoon character with no self awareness or insight. She is insecure, hyperdefensive, degrading and condescending. I have heard this from countless others and if you take a look at the upside down craziness she spews at every negative review on this site you’ll get a taste of her pathology. Her delusions of grandeur would only be commensurate with her worth if she was given gold bars for each pound she weighs. She has no skills to deal with customers or normal human interactions. Her misanthropy is stunning, she gives a Carol Baskin vibe. Her spouse should seriously consider hiring an attorney to protect himself and his business from this over fed parasitic tick who doesn’t possess the intellect, class, or the people reading, problem solving, emotional regulation or customer service skills of a 12 year old. I worry for him and his business. You cannot sustain this—despite a previously good reputation. She is destructive and caustic. He has my deepest sympathies in dealing with a person of her values and character.

We visited Ron’s after Christmas and before the new year . Tried the classic pasty 16 oz . It was a lot of pasty!! The filling was fabulous. Definitely made to perfection. We also muffin and apple fritter but I was too full to taste it at the restaurant. It is peaceful and quiet . Beautiful scenery. Highly recommended it.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp.
