The old guy that sharpens skates is as rude as they come. Everyone I know that has gone there has said the same thing. He makes you wait to get your skates sharpened even if there is no other skates to sharpen before yours. Guy needs to take a chill pill

Every one of these stores has the worst customer service. No personality and when you ask for a question you get very vague answers. The woman I had help me size my son for skates acted like it was the biggest hassle she’s ever encountered. Will never go back and would never recommend these stores to anyone.

Had a very similar experience as another reviewer named Pamela. Took my skate in to have a couple rivots to be replaced. This was the first time I was in the shop and the employee who was working in the back that does the sharpening couldn't be bothered to be friendly or helpful. He sat on his stool in the back and didn't move a muscle except to continue eating and drink his two liter of diet coke. Finally asked if he could help me with my skate that needed the two new rivots and he takes one look then says that they are done and I need new ones. Asked him if he could replace them anyways and he looked like I asked him to walk on water. He eventually got to it and then I get charged 12 bucks... 12! 12 dollars for 2 rivot replacements is absolutely ridiculous. Most hockey shops charge about a dollar a rivot with a minimum cost of 5 bucks. I ended up going to another hockey shop and got my other skate fixed that needed 8 rivots... Guess how much? 8 bucks. At this place that would have been 48 dollars. Don't recommend getting your shakes fixed here. Go somewhere else to get better service and better prices.

Went in for skate sharpening. They were open as the hours posted would suggest. Our local rink is never open to sharpen skates.

Took 2 pairs of skates in to have sharpened yesterday. First time in their shop. The man who was working was the rudest person I have ever encountered in a business. He sat on his stool at the other side of the room and just looked at me. When I asked if he could sharpen the skates he finally got off the stool, walked over to where I was and stared at me. Then I asked if I should fill out a form identifying who the skates belonged to so when they needed to be picked up he would know the last name. He said no it’s not necessary and that he’s never done that in 25 years. I told him these were my boss’ kid’s skates and I would like something showing I dropped them off. He gave me a “blank”, ripped post it and stared at me. I will NOT set foot in their business again!I heard the owner is an older man. This guy was maybe in his 30’s or 40’s; beware if you expect good service. Maybe he doesn’t like women in the store .

Cannot say enough great things about either Perfect Edge location. We have been going since two mishaps, one at a chain and the other at a local shop that both incorrectly fit our boys. Our last skate purchase at Perfect Edge confirmed that we won't shop anywhere else. My 13 yo, who is VERY brand loyal and has expensive taste for everything went in with his mind set on a specific pair of skates. After trying multiple pairs on, at multiple price points he walked out with a completely different brand, and they weren't the most expensive. We will not shop anywhere else and they take their time and don't rush you. Some of them will even chirp at the kids which makes the process a little more fun, the old man is the best at chirping. You can't go wrong with either Perfect Edge location.

We’ve heard a lot of great things about this place and how good they are at finding the right fit for your skates. All of it was true. The staff worked with me over the phone first, answering questions and explaining one of the new fit profiles for a new skate line.We decided to take the drive out there and could not be any happier. We had already been “fitted” by another store and wound up in a different skate after visiting this store. There were no attempts to upsell, which honestly was amazing, every aspect of the interaction was focused on whether or not these were the best skate for my son.Incredibly professional team, no one better in the area for sure and definitely worth a drive.

No one in Michigan can sharpen ices like the old man! Rumor is he use to sharpen Redwing players skates. They have a huge selection of skates and sticks. They take time and will find the skate that fits u best not just the most expensive. Check them out

Went to get my skates profiled. The guy didn’t ask anything about skating style, weight, position, etc., and was impressively rude. Like rude for no reason. Also told me a profile is good for forever. For those of you that know skates, that should say a lot. Ended up adding an extra 45 to my drive and took my business back to SkateWorks.

We live in Lansing and we were told this was a good place to go for hockey skates to get either sharpened or something done for them We usually go to Pure Hockey so we decided to try this place for the first time we called the day before talked to the gentleman that does skates ,told him my son wanted swap out the skate blade holder to his skate they told us it would take a day possibly two , we told him we'd be out the next day which is a Friday upon Getting there he goes inside and the gentleman that does the skates said his brother is the one that does the work and would not be back until Monday would've been nice to know that When we called the night before , before driving from Lansing We'll take the extra 15- 20 minutes to drive out to a place that we've trusted all the time

He won't find a group that is more knowledgeable than this one when it comes to all things skates and equipment. They take extra care to make sure that you get into the proper fitting in the proper device.
