We still strongly believe that they put our dogs with other dogs in one unit, even though we paid for a suite. There is a capacity rule, which they did not follow the guidelines. That is why our dog was injured. The boarding facility that we go to now has cameras, and Pet-Ritz refused to let us see what truly happened.
I have boarded my two dogs at the Pet-Ritz since the end of 2020. Father's Day weekend of this year I received a call that my husky got attacked by my other dog. My two dogs have been together since they were little and never once have had an accident. Since the day I received the call of the accident, my poor husky has had many visits to the vet and is still recovering months after. I was out of state when I got a call stating that I needed to pick them up right away because of how badly my husky was hurt and they weren't sure of how long she had been bleeding. They would not provide me pictures of her either. I told them that I could not get a flight back to Michigan right away, but was told prior that they had a vet on staff, however that was not the case.
One of the workers took my husky to the vet. The vet told me that someone needed to stay with her overnight. I told boarding that I would be there the following day. They told me that I would have to pay an extra $400 for someone to stay there with her. I asked if they have cameras so I could see what happened and they told me no, not where the kennels are. I was also told I was not allowed to see where my dogs are boarded because it's a liability for the company.
I had always paid for their luxury suite and top package, so both of them could be together and they had stayed there over 10 times. I was told that only those two go outside together and that was since day one. I truly believe that I was lied to and that other dogs are boarded together when the company tells you they aren't.
I put my trust in them too much and now my poor baby has to suffer and I'm paying for it. It's very unfortunate that I will truly never know what happened that day.
I would highly suggest not boarding your animals with this company.

Great place for my 12 yr old labrador. Their attention to detail is like no other kennel he has lodged at before. He has lived in 3 countries and 4 states. Pet-Ritz has offered the best customer service and care that we could ask for.

We have been boarding our dog Ripp at Pet Ritz going on 3 years now since we got him. We live in Fenton and it is by far the best place around. The facility, care and staff are amazing. They go above and beyond everytime and Ripp loves it there.

Dory had a wonderful time. It helped tremendously to see pictures posted. Would definitely refer others to use Pet-Ritz for all their services!

I can not say enough about this place. The place lives up to the name Pet "Ritz" . Suites for our pups even with TV's. Recently we had to board our two furry family members. I was greeted at the door with open arms and loves as I cried like a baby leaving my babies for the first time. I did message periodically to check on them, because that's what moms do. We received photos and accounts of their daily activities. One on my pups is skidish and afraid. Leaving her there was the best thing ever. When we came to pick her up she was excited, but also seemed to want to stay:) I can not thank the staff at Pet Ritz enough for their kindness and love for my fur babies. Highly recommend.

Following the recommendation of our vet, we took our 1 year old Bernedoodle to Pet Ritz for a visit. My wife and I and our dog took a tour of Pet Ritz. We were very impressed with the facilities, great condition of everything, cleanliness, health/welfare guidelines, services offered, operating hours and the type of dogs who were visiting. Most of all, we met the much of the staff. This included the owner who is a dog lover, breeder, exhibitor and is very familiar with dog care and health considerations.
The manager is a very long-term member of the organization and shares the owner’s attitude, abilities, knowledge of dogs/dog care and has a deep love for dogs, The remainder of the staff is also amazing. Our dog has been staying there for two years now and has always received the best of care and a lot of love. The staff shows the highest standards of love, responsibility and care for the canines lucky enough to visit Pet Ritz.
We can think of no higher recommendation for Pet Riz than the activity displayed when our dog visits her canine and human friends there; from the moment we enter the wonderful facility grounds she is overcome with excitement, including barking and tail wagging, until she sees her friends. We're fortunate to have found such a great place to help care for our dog. Pet Ritz is an integral part of our dog's care team and that will remain in the future.

I love the staff at Pet Ritz. They take great care with my two dogs both for daycare twice a week and boarding when needed. Always communicative about what goes on during their stay. As for my pups, we can't say the word camp without them heading to the door. Thanks everyone for all you do!

We boarded our 12-year-old chocolate lab Bailey at Pet Ritz over the Memorial Day Weekend and the day before and after. Pet Ritz did a free day visit the week before evaluate Bailey. This impressed me as older dogs sometimes don’t do well when at the kennel And Bailey has some bad arthritis in her left front shoulder. Bailey did well on the evaluation day so we boarded her for the long weekend and flew to visit relatives. While we were traveling, Pet Ritz noticed Bailey’s urine had some red coloring. We had not yet landed, but they had tried to get in touch with us. Since we were not available, they contacted our veterinarian. They delivered a urine sample to our veterinarian who diagnosed a UTI. Our Veterinarian prescribed antibiotics and contacted us successfully as we had already landed. I called Pet Ritz immediately and they had already taken care of Bailey and she was doing well. The story exemplifies extraordinary attention to our loved pet and a willingness to take care of problems quickly. The staff and management is extremely friendly and I would recommend this kennel anytime as they proved to go above and beyond. Thank you, Pet Ritz!!!

UPDATE RESPONSE: We stand by our original review, as we have left our dogs many times over the years, (& for longer periods), and they've NEVER come back sick & certainly not needing vet care like they did here! We were Not told of bloody diarrhea upon pick up-'loose' stools as you describe are not the same as bloody diarrhea--and it's sad you think it normal that after 3 days they should have diarrhea that lasts a week due to "stress." I suppose it might matter what stressed them out in the first place. Why would we call you back after the tone of your follow up message was extremely rude and quite uncaring? Your demand we provide you with vet records-even though as you also stated in your message you didn't need our permission to obtain them, since we had signed your forms upon check-in so you could access them regardless. Not sure how that works that you can access vet records when the dogs are no longer in your care--but since we felt we had nothing to hide-we complied with your "request" by granting our vet permission to give you their records. We're also not interested to now hear of your suggested remedies as detailed in your review-since a) they come long after the fact, and b) since you're not a vet, the course of treatment you described in your review was not the same as our vet's prescribed course of treatment for our dogs--& since they now no longer have that wheezing and barking cough or bloody diarrhea that they came home with after a weekend at your facility, I'd say we made the right call to listen to our vet. While you post your well wishes for our dogs in your review response-your actions after learning of what happened to them have been anything but caring. Bottom line: Our dogs stayed with you for 3 days and returned sick, when they've never been sick after having been boarded. In fact, our dogs went to the vets 2 weeks BEFORE they stayed with you and had received a TOTAL clean bill of health with ZERO health concerns--so there is no question they got sick as a result of their stay at Pet Ritz! We again stand by our original post!!
ORIGINAL Message: Do NOT Leave your dogs here!!! We took our 2 dogs (Shih Tzu mixes) here the first weekend in May 2024, and I shudder to think how they would have been had they stayed any longer!! The same day we picked them up on a Monday morning, one of our dogs had bloody diarrhea, that lasted for five days, and when we called to ask if she would have eaten something while there, they admitted that they had noticed there was blood in her stool that morning-Yet DIDN'T tell us when we picked her up that same morning! So who knows how long she was like that! They also tried to say that this was normal and can happen from stress; but our dogs are Ten & Five years old respectively and have NEVER come back like this after having been boarded anywhere else!! If the bloody stool weren't bad enough, both dogs also came back with a barking cough-turns out they picked up RSV while there too! I can only imagine how filthy this place must be for two dogs staying only four days can come back so sick!!! It's been THREE vet visits, and after a week, both dogs are still needing to take antibiotics, antihistamines, and anti-parasitic medicines-costing us nearly FIVE HUNDRED dollars in follow up vet bills!! We also found a bean in one of our pet's stools, and since neither one have beans in their canned food-Lord knows what food they were fed, but it most definitely wasn't what we brought in (one is on a specialized urinary diet, so we know how her dog poop should look-and it wasn't this!)! Even after we called, they never bothered all week to call us with a follow up to even check to see how they were doing either--ZERO care or consideration for our pets! This was the first AND will definitely be the LAST TIME we will ever take our dogs to this place!! Please do yourselves, and more importantly, do your pets a Huge favor and find another place to

It was difficult to leave our boy for 14 days but Pet Ritz took good care of him. We saw photos of him playing, swimming and smiling like the big goofy dog that he is. And he even came home without the typical kennel smell! Thanks, Pet Ritz, for taking care of Hunter like he was your fur baby so we could enjoy our vacation knowing he was in good hands.

This place is great. Our dog loves it here. They have bailed me out on a couple of occasions and have been super flexible and helpful. I can't recommend the place enough.
