I visited Gemmens recently looking for some gift ideas for a friend. I found some cute items for her and some fall decor for myself.It’s truly amazing how many different items Gemmens offers.They have seasonal decor, toys, puzzles, greeting cards, gift items, cleaning supplies, a whole section of Yeti items, Big Green Egg and regular grills and equipment, pet items, mowers, lawn and garden equipment, and a thorough selection of all things hardware.The staff are really the highlight of the store; they are so friendly and go out of their way to help you. I always enjoy my visits here.

This is a great store with tons of selection and very nice employees. I really couldn’t believe how big it was compared to every Ace I’ve been to before.

We brought our E Go mower to Gemmen’s on Saturday Aug 5th and told them that most likely the battery was bad and offered to leave an extra battery with them while they worked on the mower. On Thursday Aug 10th I get a call stating the battery is bad and we HAD to buy a new battery for $400 before they would start working on the mower. I called the store and questioned this since we offered to leave another battery when we left things the week before they should have known we had additional batteries. I was told they would start working on the mower now since they know we have additional batteries at home. We hear nothing from the store until I call on Friday the 18th and I am told they are waiting for a part that should be in the store soon. I then receive a call on Thursday the 24th stating the mower is working and nothing was done. I questioned that because of the past communication and the guy on the phone had no clue what was going on. New call today Friday the 25 and was confirmed that yes a part was replaced and the mower is now running.I bring one of other batteries to the store to make sure everything is in working order before I leave. Before leaving I am due a refund of my deposit so up to the front and the 1st person could not help me but she brought me to the correct counter. Not sure who could do the refund I waited and to my surprise it was the other cashier who helped 4 or 5 people who came to the counter after I was there before I did. And I she said was “sorry for keeping you waiting.” This was very disappointing.If we ever need to service our mower again I will request a different hardware store.08/26/23 10AME-mail sent- looking forward to your response.

First time experience at Gemmens and thoroughly disappointed! Lawn mower starter cord attachment near the handle broke, so we brought it there for repair. Had to pay $50 for a down payment on the repair, only to get a phone call the next day saying “sorry, they don’t make that part anymore”, which was fine. My husband went to pick up the mower and figured since they couldn’t fix it, we’d get that $50 back. Nope! They made a quick $50 and told us they’d give us $50 off if we purchase a new one. Also-we asked them to sharpen the blade for sure but that wasn’t even done…ridiculous. So disappointed as we love supporting local but this is a hard NO.

I remember coming here as a little girl with my grandpa. I moved back recently and needed some pond supplies.It’s been a while since I’ve walked into a store where every employee I interacted with was not only smiling, but happy to help me! The customer service alone has made Gemmen’s our family’s go to for hardware supplies.Chad and Margie, y’all made my day yesterday! I walked in feeling overwhelmed, and left with a big smile on my face! Grateful for you and your incredible customer service skills!!

Thank you for the excellent service in the grill section. We roasted an entire pig over charcoal that they recommended. The pork had a great flavor.

Now this is a GREAT locally owned hardware store. They bring to life the Ace - Helpful place vibe with an actually knowledgeable and friendly team. People who know what they’re doing approach you instead of you having to chase them down ?It’s stocked with a rare depth of hardware and tools that you don’t see much anymore. I know I have never seen such a complete line of Milwaukee tools anywhere else.AND they have a fun selection of toys, gifts and housewares that make a trip to the hardware store more than just about work!I will drive out of my way to go back!

Super helpful staff. Not the widest selection for individual items compared to a big box store, but generally able to find exactly what I need.Despite having limited selection per item, the overall selection is amazing. They have almost everything you need.

Knowledgeable staff but high prices. Besides getting screens done at the service center, service has been very poor. Brought a Stijl chainsaw to get repaired, was told I did not want to spend over 100.00 on the repair and was given a two week turnaround time to fix. Three weeks later I was finally called. When I went in, I was told the charge was 175.00. I told him I had a 100.00 cap on repairs. He looked it up and said it was in the computer for a 100.00 limit. Asked me what I wanted to do. I said pay no more than 100.00 or it wasn’t worth it to me. He told me to come back the next day so they could take the repaired parts off and I could take it home. I did just that. Also took a snow blower in which I paid for a fix. It was not fixed. I hate to be negative but I would look for service somewhere else. I will!
