My stay was unpleasant to say the least. For the price it was cheap so my expectations were low, but with fair requests for maintenance it was clear there was no staff. I had to deal with a mouse infestation and couldn't convince the landlady to do anything about it. I was stuck waking up to droppings everywhere and was told "its about the time of year they look for homes... set some traps" with no staff it was clear i was on my own. I warn people of this unlicensed landlord tenant agreements that you sign there is no obligation for the landlord to do anything.

One-of-a kind! Low-budget but high-class and high character. Interlochen!

I guess to sum it up one word disappointed. Not sure what kind of standards the other reviewers have ,but we found it to be dirty. neglected and not charming. We booked for 4 nights and did not see our host at all. They use Airbnb to book and they charge extra. 467 dollars for 4 nights. Being very disappointed, we checked out after 3 nights. the only reason for two stars is that the area is beautiful.

I had a great stay! Very peaceful and met very interesting people. I was able to travel to Traverse City easily and come back at night to relax.

My husband and I needed a place to stay for winter before moving to Traverse City. Creekside Cottages was a really good choice. Very affordable. It is about 20 minutes from Traverse City. The cottage was clean. There were a couple bugs, since it's in the woods, but surprisingly they almost never got in. We loved that it is located across from Bud's Cafe (1 minute walk), which has live music every Thursday night & great food. It is also close to the Hofbrau restaurant, post office, two grocery stores, gas station, Dollar General, and Wendy's. The cottages are set back far enough from the road that the traffic didn't bother us. The cabin we stayed in (#2) had a kitchen with a stove, oven, microwave, sink, and fridge. It had a bathroom, bedroom, and small living room space with a pull-out sofa bed couch. We didn't drink the tap water because of the iron, but we used it for everything else. The best thing was that the electricity, heat, water, and high-speed internet were very reliable in that they never went down, not even during storms. I would recommend this place for weekend stays or short-term rental.
