Recently took my van here for transmission work. Was quoted $4200 for a rebuild. The receptionist assured me on two separate occasions that it would be near that amount. Surprise! It ended up costing me $5000. Really?? Transmissions is what they do, but they can't give you a fair estimate? It gets far worse. I soon noticed a rubbing noise while driving. I mentioned this to them when I took the van back for their two weeks inspection. They told me it was probably a wheel bearing going bad. Well the noise continued to get worse making me hesitant to drive it. So I took the van to another shop. They discovered that the lug nuts on both front wheels were only hand tight! I/ We could have died! When I brought this to AAMCO's attention they apologized, but refused to even reimburse me for my costs incurred fixing this dangerous situation. Don't Go Here.

I requested that I received the diagnostic report from the "computerized diagnostic service" I received - and upon picking up my vehicle, the report wasn't given to me.

They got our truck in right away, and recommended we take it to the original repair shop (still in warranty). Everyone was helpful.

Fix your website. If you don't do radiator repair, don't make it the main focal point of your web page. Not that hard to hire someone to change it. If your new owners can afford to buy you. They can afford to fix the website if you aren't going to offer what it says. Just saying!

They were amazing to work with and they got my car up and running in no time. The ladies kept me up to date with the repairs on my car so that I didn’t have to worry to much. The mechanics are all awesome and very knowledgeable about everything that was wrong with my car. I definitely will be back to this shop for any future repairs on my car.

Updated review. After getting the car back from having the clutch replaced. My exhaust was louder than when brought in. Yes my exhaust header was rusty being Michigan and 20 year old car nothing new about that happening. I called back to ask if they removed it to do what work they needed to do and yes they did. Never called to tell me the manifold cracked when taken off. Owner went as far as to take a picture of it that was cracked. He said he could get one for another $500 and put it on with no extra labor charge. Also looking at my receipt they charged me the diagnostic fee. Other shops I've dealt with in the past waive the fee if you have the work done at their shop, not them. I ordered my stuff online way cheaper than what he wanted to charge me to replace the exhaust and replaced myself because it completely broke in half. I would check out other shops before having work done by them. Not real honest and they are not reasonably priced. There are better places to go and won't be using them again.
I was very impressed with their honesty, customer service, professionalism, reasonable pricing and friendliness. I could tell that they wanted to do their very best to get my car repaired correctly. They fixed everything. Well done AAMCO - I highly recommend your shop.

The AAMCO Staff is very friendly, they also help you find out the best option for your mechanical repair. They do a very good service depending on what your car needs. They also have affordable prices and have your car ready in a short time. I strongly recommend AAMCO for your future repairs or auto maintenance.

I was recommended to AAMCO on Portage Rd in Kalamazoo by my trusted mechanic who was not able to service transmissions. I was very impressed with their honesty, customer service, professionalism, reasonable pricing and friendliness. They called me on the phone three times to verify the problem and what they were going to fix. I could tell that they wanted to do their very best to get my car repaired correctly. They fixed everything in one day! Well done AAMCO - I highly recommend your shop!

Ehhhhh terrible service. They charged me 95$ to hook my truck up on a diag tool ( my friend already did this a day before ) and did nothing else to help or advise me besides quoting me 4000+$ starting for a trans rebuild. I'm still driving the truck btw so SKETCHY AS HELL AVOID !

Labor here was really expensive and the staff were a bit difficult to understand over the phone. They also suggested a fix I didn't need on my car, and I felt like the mechanic took it personally that I wasn't able to afford it and only asked for the original service I came there for. In person they were friendly and overall the fix I did get seems like it was of good quality.
