Very standard gym and nice enough. However after being there for nearly a year I have never seen a piece of equipment fixed or updated. There are multiple machines that are severely broken or partially broken. Reinvestment is need or I likely will be looking at other gyms in the near future.

They keep deleting my post!! These people are monsters! In 2018 I had a reaction to a medication that led to my respiratory system being shut down, and me being intubated for 1 1/2 weeks. When I was released, I was unable to breathe and talk. Look up vocal cord paralysis talking, it’s basically inaudible to hear. I was told for several weeks after that, that my lack of breathing and talking was due to recovery from intubation. Finally the doctors found out that my vocal cords were paralyzed shut, in which I was ambulanced to U of M hospital and was in the ICU for 2 weeks. They had me under go throat surgeries for 2 weeks and said there isn’t much research on vocal cord paralysis, and the surgeries may or may not work. If they didn’t work, I would need a treach for the rest of my life to breath. During that period between getting out of my coma, and going to the ICU, I went to my anytime fitness gym with the summaries from the hospital and requested to cancel my membership. I informed them not only was I not only able to perform exercise due to my inability to breath, but I was also moving back home to live with my aunt so she may take care of me in southwest michigan. At my aunts house, the nearest anytime fitness, is 19 miles away. The staff I spoke to at the time then told me “You can only void your contract if your legs are broke and 19 miles isn’t that far of a drive”. I had so much going on I said left saying “I cannot work out, and I am cancelling the membership, thank you and have a great day” (in my basically inaudible voice). Their contract states a member can break contract if they are physically incapable to workout, or if they live outside of a reasonable distance from an Anytime Fitness. I had both. I finally recovered to 90% capacity after all these years, and I just found out that these people sent me to collections for $3000. Not only did they send me to collections, but they sent me to one collections agency for $1900 and another collection agency for $1030z so instead of having one collection on my report I have 2. These people are monsters!!!

Nothing wrong, but pretty basic. No showers which is hard if you have to go to work.

Good gym. I visited this Kalamazoo Anytime Fitness at 11pm on a Sunday and had the whole big place to myself. Everything is very clean and well maintained. The entire gym is equipped with "Star Trac" weight machines... which I'd never heard of before, but they are very smooth and easy to use. I also had a shower and was impressed by those facilities.

just toured this facility and it does not look anything like the owner photos. peeling and chipped flooring when you walk in. it’s very congested, as in too much gym equipment, did not see anywhere to comfortably workout at, very dirty and looking haggard everywhere. they advertise free for a week but are charging $25 for a key fob, $100 registration fee once you sign up then they charge you $25 bi-weekly for a year. big yikes.

Collin, wasn’t very nice from time ago,I remembered the gym wasn’t very clean and the weight equipment is old and outdated and anytime in portage has brand new equipment and why can’t stadium drive get brand new equipment. When my good friend “Rex” owned it at the time,It was super clean and he was very gentle and he was very polite with his customers and I wish he was back, again. I really enjoy that nice conversations with him back in the day.. loved Rex like he was my uncle.

I want to warn others before joining. Collin was the guy who originally signed me up, He was nice, easy going. During the signing up, I remember vividly him stating that one of the only ways to break the contact with anytime fitness was if you moved and there wasn't a gym within a certain mile radius of where you're moving to. This made sense to me, as most gyms have this policy. Now this is on me for not reading the fine print, but in it states that per person leaving/moving away will have to pay $50. Keep in mind, I only had a little over a month left of MY CONTRACT! I was blown away that he was not willingly to work with me. I was moving to a new location that doesn't have a gym near me, and because if this .. I have to pay a $100 cancellation fee (2 people on the membership)?? any normal gym ownership would wave this. Snap fitness waved it for me, planet has done the same, a different location anytime fitness waved this for me...When I asked to have corporates number, he stated that they didn't have a number to reach out to, when I asked for the owners number, he said he would carry my complaint over to ownership. I have not heard from them since.Instead of working with a customer, I feel like the did the opposite, I can honestly say that I will never workout at a Anytime fitness again, due to the fact that I feel they prioritize money over loyalty and customers...

The gym isn't very clean and many of the weight machines are outdated. There are signs everywhere with threats of charges if you break one of the weight machines, but they are already hanging on by a thread and need to be updated. I love anytime fitness, this location just doesn't do it justice. Mattawan and Portage AF locations are way better and nicer equipment!

Yesterday was amazing! But today the male "instructor" or office personnel was very rude to me and a friend I brought in.... hadn't been there 5 min. And he's hounding us about who scanned in. Clearly there is a face connected to the faab. Instead of offering her a 7 day free trial or any information on the gym he snatches the $10 +1 fee out of my hand and went back to his office... RUDE FOR NO APPARENT REASON

I'm an anytime fitness member from the east side of the state. When I come to Kalamazoo to visit family this is the closest anytime fitness. This gym is trash. There's ONE real squat rack, half the isolated machines don't work, and overall everything is old and janky. Avoid coming here if you can, unless you're just planning to use a treadmill...

Beware! They tell you there's a "free trial" but they charge you $25 to borrow the key fob you need to get in to the building. And if you don't sign up afterward, no refund. This is not printed anywhere in their literature. Better Business Bureau has been notified.

Absolute gem of a gym, Colin consistently and accurately addressed any concern, it’s always clean and if it’s not it’s because some of the members. Great atmosphere, and would recommend to anyone who lives close looking for a gym wether you’re a beginner or experienced gym goer. Thanks again For everything Colin!

I like anytime because it’s always a really friendly environment. I especially have had good experiences with Lisa. She’s always helped make me more comfortable with the equipment and shown me ways to make sure I’m getting a good workout!
