Just close the damn store for good!!! Why is this store always closed early? People plan stuff based on your posted hours. The other dollar general has nothing in stock. Close a couple stores, focus on a few and treat your employees better! Stop wasting our tine!!!!

This place is nasty. Hardly anything in stock, the store is just plain trashed. What's wrong with adding an additional cashier when super busy? I will not stop into this pithole ever again!

Get there last night it's a hand written note back at 8:15pm and I was only 730pm smh they are always closed and horrible service could be 20 ppl in line and the manager or secondary person on the shift doesn't even attempt to help cash people out so they can clear the line worst dollar general in Kalamazoo maybe even in South West Mich

I'm adding this review to the Portage Ave. store. Not very often do you go into a DG and have not one but all the staff great you and ask if you need help. The people working Saturday January 6th, day shift around 12:-1pm were all so helpful. The store was nice, clean and well stocked. Also something you don't see often at a DG. I am sure this company doesn't have great reviews but I wanted to give credit where credit was due. I have another DG that is closer to me, but from now on I will only go to this one. Management should be very happy with their staff and give them some kudos.

In town visiting from out of town and ran here from the hotel to grab a few things before they close at 10pm and they ACTUALLY close at 945pm bc they lock the doors and let people out one by one who was in store before 945pm. Typically if your open til 10pm your open til 10pm. This town is so odd and backwards smh change your hours to 945pm bc you're falsely advertising

Huge improvement the last couple months!! They have new staff and are open normal hours again. The store looks so nice and clean! You can definitely tell they have working hard to improve the store.

Over half of the shelves were empty, trash and cigarettes butts cover the entire parking lot. Total wasteland.

Worst DG I've ever stepped foot in. The floors look as of they haven't been mopped since 2010, rolltainers everywhere, shelves bare with the exception of product being in any place but the correct location (obviously the last recovery session was when the floors were last cleaned), absolute disgrace. Cashier was rude and eating chips as she rang up my merchandise! What?! Skip this one if you'd like basic customer service!
