We have been at Eight Street Veterinary Care for about 6 years now. They have always been gentle with our animals, even with our male cat who used to be a bite risk. They discovered his diabetes a couple years ago and educated us on his disease and worked with us to get his insulin dosage that has our cat back to running around and playing with our younger cat. They have been so kind and gentle with our elderly dog Nora (almost 15 yrs old) who is now in more palliative care due to her age.Thank you Eighth Street Veterinary Care!

Dr. Withers rarely listened to my concerns when I brought my cat Barbossa to him. Thank goodness I moved and went to a new vet. But now my cat has passed away, and the blood work from 2021 shows early warning signs of the conditions that ended his life, and he never said a thing. You would think that he would care more for a cat that a member of his own front desk staff found on the street. Shame on you.Edit: He saw you guys multiple times in the year I lived in the area. At least get the facts right before replying.

Unreliable and rude front office. Clearly displayed by all of the unprofessional responses to the multitude of one star posts for them. I needed medication for my cat and they told me that since she was seen within the year she would not need another visit to get the medication. They then called me again and said that they were mistaken and I would need to make an appointment. No problem, I made an appointment. They then called the day before to cancel the appointment and were extremely rude about it. I asked if they had a working relationship with any other vets in the area that I could get an appointment with, and they simply replied “no”. I asked what I should do in this situation and they said “if I were you I would have made the appointment months ago”. That interesting, since they initially told me I didn’t need one and I didn’t know I needed the appointment months ago. They commented on this review saying that they don’t tolerate abuse to front office staff. That’s as hilarious as it is sad. That person should get their attitude in line and start caring about clients and animals. The vet should care enough about their clinic to get rid of the rude front office person. Please do not bring your pets here.

Here for a year and never looked back (esp. after two poor experiences at the local cat-only vet). Dr. Withers is phenomenal with great bedside manner, reassuring for us but most importantly for any anxious kitty on the table. Supporting vet techs are who we interact with most for nail trims every few weeks– they are SO good that kitty is back in her carrier 90 seconds after the trim so she doesn't even protest much any more. Just overall amazing veterinary care, which brings much comfort to our little family!

We have been bringing our animals here for 5+ years and truly trusted Dr. Withers and his team with our dog and 2 cats. Unfortunately, one of our cats began having symptoms/attacks of coughing, stomach contractions, retching, and overall decreased quality of life. We took her in to Eighth Street at least 3x in the last 8-10 months and they chalked it up to something gastrointestinal and her just being a nauseous cat each time. When we inquired multiple times to see if it was something respiratory, it was quickly dismissed and never revisited. Finally, after trying to bring her in one more time, we were told there was nothing more they would do to help and to see a specialist. We took her to another local vet for a second opinion and she was diagnosed with Feline Asthma during the first appointment. We were told she had the lungs of a 15 year old cat that smoked a pack of cigarettes a day (she is 6) and the extensive damage was visible on the x-ray of her lungs. The symptoms were asthma attacks, where she couldn’t breathe, not anything gastrointestinal. We were incredibly disappointed that our animal suffered for a year, despite our effort to find answers, and that our concerns of this being respiratory were consistently dismissed. We felt very lucky to be with Eighth St when our puppy had parvo, but felt let down that we were not listened to or had our cats symptoms be taken seriously. We will no longer have our animals as patients there.

Went there 9 months ago my dog had a little skin issue. they prescribed antibiotics for ten days didn't work went back more antibiotics and add some steroids tell me the side effects are increased thirst and urination they keep her on the steroids for over a month skin cleared up for 6 months over these 6 months she loss 6 lbs and still was super thirsty lots of urine I take her back in blood test and others for them to tell me my dog has diabetes and it was probably the steroids that caused it. They failed to properly inform me of all the side effects of the steroids now my por little dog has a life changing disease and needs insulin twice a day for the rest of her life. I trusted them with my best friends life and they let us both down.

I had an awful experience here. The receptionist has been very unhelpful every time I have spoken with her. I bring my cat to a vet once a year for ONE SOLE PURPOSE: to get her prescriptions renewed. I decided to try this vet because they had better reviews than the last vet I'd been at. They convinced me (at this prescription renewal visit) to spend $300+ on tests, to be told she was perfectly healthy. Not a huge deal; I could've said no but I let them talk me into it, and was glad to hear her levels looked good. But now I go to get the refill on her prescription and they tell me that they never wrote it for her! And they want me to come back to pay them MORE MONEY for another visit after they failed to do their job. I am 100% certain I discussed my need for prescription renewals with the vet. A receptionist even told me today they wrote down in her chart that she does take this med everyday (they also got her dose wrong), but they failed to write her prescription, and then she assured me that this is somehow my fault! Again, I clearly stated that this was the sole purpose for my visit, from my first phone call making the appointment, to the appointment itself. The receptionists, the vet, and the vet assistant on that day were all aware that my reason for coming was primarily to renew 2 prescriptions. They wrote one but forgot the other. My only way to get her prescription now is to go back to a vet (not this one of course) and pay more money for the same exact thing I went for the first time... Will not return to this place. If you do go, make sure you see their prescriptions in writing before you leave the building and take pictures so you don't get screwed over. I use Chewy so I have never needed to use a paper prescription and didnt even think to check at the end because the vet and I discussed her conditions and prescriptions at length. My cat is now likely going to go through withdrawal from missing meds before she can get into another vet because of their unwillingness to fix their own mistake. (Probably worth mentioning that the main vet is out of town right now, she was very nice at the appointment so maybe she would've remembered my visit and fixed the mistake if she was around, idk, maybe this isn't representative of everyone there and just the person I talked to.)

I am absolutely blown away at the amount of compassion and care the team here has shown. We had an emergency with one of our pets and Dr. Withers and Amy helped us during a power outage to get her fluids and the medicine she needed by flashlight. THANK YOU both so much for making a terrible day just a little better, and most importantly helping our pet.

$62 missed appointment fee because I’m not psychic to know that I was going to wake up and be sick today, and didn’t give 24 hours notice?! You would think that with all of the sickness that is going around they would be a bit more understanding, and consider the health and well being of their employees, but I guess money is more important. I’m glad there are plenty of other veterinary clinics in the area because I won’t be bringing any of my pets there again.

I’ve tried many local veterinarians and the way I was immediately able to make an appointment for my cat was phenomenal and raised my standards for vet care. I am thrilled to have found a welcoming and compassionate facility to support my cats health. Highly recommend.

Vet and assistances are incredibly kind and patient. From the start they showed so much compassion and love towards our German shepherd. Got right down on the floor, loved on him. You could see how comfortable they were and how much they genuinely enjoy helping and taking care of our sweet babies!

Horrible place. Went in cause my cat was limping and had possible uti none of that was addressed, ending up leaving with tic and flea medicine when that wasn’t the purpose of my visit. Now I have to pay the appointment fee AGAIN because THEY didn’t address the issues I told them I was having

Sad place. A vet recommended calling this place to see if they had a certain dog food that my Yorkie has to have as our vet is out. She said ONLY their clients can have it. After talking to other vet offices they were happy to sell it to me with a prescription but they were out as well. Sad when you have to have a Renal type of canned food and this place was so unsympathetic. No good words to say about this place and the woman was rude!

I've been going here for about 5 years, we tried another briefly vet due to scheduling issues but decided to come back. Pricing is reasonable, the clinic is clean and organized, and the staff is always friendly. When in the clinic, the cats and dogs are as comfortable as possible (considering they are usually getting shots). When we've had scares with our pets, I've been able to get someone on the phone and get in ASAP if needed. Overall, this is a very good veterinary office and I would recommend it to friends and family looking for someone to take care of their animals.
