Antiquated covid-19 policy. According to their website and confirmed by phone today, "We continue to follow Kalamazoo County, State of Michigan, and CDC guidelines for masks. Currently, masks are required for all patrons, including those who are vaccinated against Covid-19." As of today, the CDC's website, under covid-19 by county, states "People may choose to mask at any time. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask." Also they are still requiring proof of vaccination. Get with the times, GPF.

Last night's performance was simply amazing! We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to hear such great artists. I have heard Kirill Gerstein many times, and each time is better than the last. Thank you Gilmore Keyboard Festival for another special evening!

The Gilmore brings the best talent in the world to our little corner. Last night's Gabriela Montero concert was one of the finest live music events of my life. Montero is truly a master of her craft, interpreting Mozart and Beethoven with skill and followed that with her own improvisations on a number of themes. I encourage ALL of you to support and attend Gilmore Keyboard Festival events in the Kalamazoo area. Sarkozy cookies and coffee during intermission. So much to love!

Kathy and I just saw Nellie McKay at the Civic as part of the Gilmore Keyboard Festival. Been a fan for over a dozen years and wasn't disappointed. Her quirky lyrics and humorous banter with the audience, mixed in with some classics and incredible keyboard skills made for a truly wonderful performance.....mega bonus: got to meet her after the show!!

We are so lucky to have such a distinguished festival in Kalamazoo. I have attended many events throughout the years and every single one of the musicians has been top notch. All the planning that takes place definitely shows from the venues, to the volunteers, to the programs, and to the variety of keyboard music. You'll see soloists, trios, big bands, and maybe a dueling piano concert. Kalamazoo is a perfect city to host this incredible festival. If you haven't experienced the Gilmore Keyboard Festival yet, be sure to check it out! It is typically held the first two weeks of May every even year (2018, 2020, etc.)

Our 6 year old and 3 month old loved the Baby Grands performance. Thank you for bringing Alpin Hong to the Battle Creek Willard Library! It was wonderful to enjoy beautiful and fun piano music in a relaxed environment with our children. Well done!

The Gilmore Festival is a huge and important International Keyboard Festival held every other year in Kalamazoo, Mi. It brings in huge names known to layfolk and keyboard enthusiasts alike (Ben Folds, Diana Krall and Bruce Hornsby among them), hosts master classes, free concerts, family concerts, symphony orchestra collaborations and more. The Gilmore also offers Young Artist and Gilmore Artist grants, the latter of which is bestowed every four years and comes with a $300,000 reward.

For piano music lovers, whether jazz or classical, there is no better festival in the Midwest.
The programming is of the first order, and tickets are affordable. Bravo, Irving Gilmore!
