Gary Householder prepared my documents for tax season 2023 and I was informed by him that there was a state-mandated tax in Michigan which other states did not have and that I must pay it and I discovered through the IRS that this request of Mr. Householder was incorrect but because I had already sent a check which was deposited there was no way to get that money back.

The people seemed nice! We got Sticker Shock!? $235 We didn't see that coming. We gave them a 3 because of the cost. After that we were told we could have had discounts. Retired Military and Senior Citizen. Sorry we didn't inform you of that! We'll just put it in your file for next year. They advertise $65 Federal and $37 State. Or Starts up at $89?! Up Front and Transparent Pricing? I changed the rating to a 1 star because we were contacted February 2nd and they said we already paid and nothing they can do.! Or don't want or chose not to do anything... They admitted that they failed to be transparent about cost and give advertised discounts. I looked at the Better Business Bureau and H&R Block is not Accredited by the Better Business Bureau and they do have 471 reviews with 1.06 out of 5 stars. They are overpriced. They use Artificial Intelligence (AI) Employee to answer review with a canned message. Read the reviews yourself! This is not the same respectable company that we knew from years ago! DO NOT USE THEM!! They take advantage of Senior Citizens and Retired people both military and civilian.

Don't use this service, , use tax free America, it's cheaper and they won't charge you 239$ for a service turbo tax will do for free, or cash app or any other service, plan on problems when dealing with this branch on West main. Thanks
