We took our jeep there for slipping transmission problems and seems we ran into the same issue as others. They had our car forever...about 3.5 weeks. Fixed our flex pipe and brakes and told us the transmission would need sent out to be rebuilt. Fine. Then they told us in addition to our warranty they were doubling what we were originally quoted so instead of $800 on top of the $3000 the warranty would cover. So now for them to fix this it was all of a sudden $1800. We picked our car up immediately and made an appt with a dealership that can actually do the work. If you have a newer nicer vehicle I recommend NOT using this place. The communication was ridiculous. We would have to call and call and it wasn't until we called our warranty company ourselves that we found out some actual information. With their recommendation we decided to never use this shop again. The women that answer the phones claimed that this was the fault of the mechanic however the mechanic wasn't even working that day and she finally submitted the quotes to get us some answers. All around every aspect of this business was disappointing. Hopefully with all those now hiring signs SOMEONE will get in there and know how to work.

I took my car to LV Auto because the transmission was slipping, simply told them that and they told me they would take a look and see whats wrong. First they charged me 200 something for their diagnostics and determined that the intake had come loose and was causing the engine to overheat, they fixed that, but made me schedule another appointment on a later date to get my transmission rebuilt and made me put a down payment of $2000 for a $4000 repair, which was fine considering it was actually going to get fixed. So the appointment is schedule and in between this, I'd say about a week and a half, time period they told me they would be ordering the parts for my transmission and be able to fix it on the next appointment. I take the car back a week later and they say the rebuild may take around 2 weeks, and ok understandable, everything was going well until after a week I called them to ask how the rebuild is going and they told me that they havent even started to rebuild my transmission nor did they know for sure it needed to be rebuilt. They told me they took it for some test drives and didn't get it to slip, they didnt even check the transmissions pan to see if there were metal shavings in my fluid. They fully just assumed it was fine rather than checking. After that I told them well just do a flush of the transmission fluid and put new fluid in, which then they did but thats when they checked the pan and saw that there were metal shavings in the fluid. What the hell were they doing with my car for a week? I don't understand why there was no communication between me and the mechanics when they couldn't get it to slip but instead they just kept my car and didn't try to look for a solution they just assumed. Overall I'm extremely disappointed with the service, haven't had my car for almost 3 weeks now and they still havent even ordered the parts for my transmission, what a joke.Service: Transmission

Wrote a review a few months ago that was on the negative side. For that I give Steve and his team a heart felt apology. This week I had my car towed in with a broken tie rod end. This was my first experience with LV Auto and I brought my 14 year old car to be checked out for a number of issues so, I knew it wouldn't be cheap. For starters I set an appointment to drop my car off 10 days in advance for a Monday. Dropped it off Sunday evening so it would be there bright and early Monday. On Wednesday afternoon I still hadn't heard anything so, I decided to call. I was told they were "a little backed up" and my car would be next in. Thursday afternoon I finally got the call I was dreading, and the cost and scope of repairs was more than I could do at the time so, we prioritized and was able to get what needed to be done most urgently which was over $1000 for my 14 year old car. It wasn't until the following Monday that I got a call that a part was only available from the manufacturer and cost was about $150 more than quoted but, what can I do? I wasn't happy but, agreed to the added cost and more time without my car. Finally, on Tuesday afternoon 8 days later was I told it was ready. As an added bonus (which, in this case is two words, "bone us") they charge a 3% convenience fee for the ease and convenience of not having to go to your bank (mine is in Lansing) and carry large amounts of cash to pay for the repair (that also isn't made known until you get there). It isn't enough that they make a ton of profit on the "labor" you already pay an arm and a leg for but, they charge 3% extra to swipe your card. I realize they have to pay bank fees for those transactions but, a heads up would have at least been appreciated and I could make the decision on how "convenient" paying with a card is. Did I mention that when I started my car the Check Engine lights was on? It wasn't when I dropped it off 8 days ago and, they didn't do any engine work, the repairs were all front end, not engine. They were kind enough to clear the code and tell me what the code was.In all, the receptionist was very pleasant but, it took way longer than expected and there was not much communication while I waited three days and had to call for an update. I know that there are not responsible for the condition of my vehicle when I took it in so my issue is not that is cost too much (it is but, I can't shoot the messenger as it were) my issue is the length of time I was without my vehicle, the lack of communication and, the "convenience fee". I see more businesses employing this upcharge but, there is a big difference between a $40 breakfast convenience fee and an $1100 auto repair convenience fee. I guess time will tell about the quality of the work done but, I have to say my first experience with LV Auto left a lot to be desired. I am all for supporting local family business but, there is something to be said for customer service and communication. Please don't take your customers for granted because there are many other local, family businesses out there.Services: Vehicle Inspection

So far so good as for the costumer service , found what I needed with a 3yr warranty where I had only found a 1yr so that's a plus . pricey but commiserate with the area so will tell you more after the work is done .

I meant to write this a few weeks ago but anyway LV Auto is amazing, and do great work. I took my 94 Silverado there and they replaced the pickup coil. Not only was the work completed quickly my truck runs better than ever. The price was very reasonable and they got it running better than ever. I would recommend them completely for all your auto needs and I won't hesitate to use their service again if I need to. Great service great people and very professional.
