Cute bookstore with different genres of books to pick. They also have some older news. Friendly staff. I picked up two books while I was here-both were on my wishlist!

Great throwback of newsstands gone by. Absolutely love the feel and smell of ink on paper. Amazed by the contemporary offerings of magazines and a few books. Never leave empty handed.

A real piece of Kalamazoo history. Right in the center of downtown does make it a little hard to find parking, but it’s within walking distance of Bronson park and the Gilmore parking complex. It’s definitely the cheapest place to get books in town, even if they might not have exactly what you’re looking for.

This is a staple of downtown and my go to place if I ever need a newspaper, magazine, book, or just a pack of gum.

Excellent staff and been here a long while and I’m so happy to be a second generation customer and will continue to advertise and support locally for great owner/customer relationships at the very least, as well as, local community, buy locally first if possible, and remember everyone needs to be in the know. Public awareness in the world around us is important to be able to help or act when needed. Just saying. On top of that this place has imagination in books which are called fiction and just the facts ma’am, nonfiction too. Lol

If you read a lot please help the store or not out and buy your bookshelf she is willing to order the books if you don't see the books available she says that she is struggling a little bit it's just it's not a lot of people walk through the stores anymore cuz they do everything online

I absolutely adore this gem of a book and news store. Founded in 1947 and still run by the same family, Michigan News Agency is amazing. But first, I want to let you know that this place is like the TARDIS. You will be astounded when you walk in and see what reading treasures await. Whether you're looking for a newspaper, magazine, graphic novels, or books of all genres, you will find it here. The owner, Dean (who is absolutely marvelous and a mainstay of our lovely town) can also special order any book you'd like. We've been to several events (before Covid), which were especially interesting. It is like going to a book chat and finding a room full of friends.I'm so grateful for this crucial business, right downtown, and open EVERY single day. I'm never far away from reading, thanks to them! Highly recommended.

Great and extensive collection of paperbacks. Love that Dean has noted in the back of the book what number it is in a series. Best of all - when I find a book she doesn’t carry, it’s easy to order and I get a call when it’s arrived. Best service and always good conversations.

Family own business that has stood the test of time. Looking for something you can't find elsewhere? Ask the staff for help and they will find it and order it for you. I dread the day Kalamazoo losses this gem.

I enjoy stopping by to peruse the many magazines and books on offer. If they don't have it on the shelf, they can order it Plus the staff are always very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to others.
