About Log Lake Campground
Log Lake Campground is a small, quiet, and family-friendly place located near a beautiful lake perfect for swimming, fishing, kayaking, and boating. The campground is well maintained, with clean bathrooms and a nice beach area. The host and family are helpful and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors. The site features large, sandy areas with some trees, and electric hookups are available, though water hookups are limited. Visitors enjoy the scenic surroundings with many trees and access to the lake, which is clear and beautiful. The campground is close to downtown Kalkaska and about a thirty-minute drive to Traverse City, offering convenient access to restaurants, grocery stores, and other amenities. While the campground is generally enjoyed for its peaceful setting, some limitations are noted. The sites have little privacy and are built on hard-packed sand, which can cause sand to stick to shoes and be dragged into RVs and tents. Water pressure at the full hook-up sites can be low and inconsistent, making showers and filling tanks challenging. The bathhouse is clean and accessible, but tokens are needed for showers, and sometimes there is no staff available to assist. The playground on-site is quite old, and some visitors mention that the campground is not heavily used, with few campers present during their stay. Overall, Log Lake Campground offers a peaceful and scenic camping experience with reasonable rates, clean facilities, and easy access to outdoor activities. Its natural setting and lake access make it a good choice for families and those looking to relax in nature, despite some minor issues with water pressure, site privacy, and sand.

Cute little camping/RV spots with full hookups right on the lake. Plenty of space between each site. It’s right on the lake, perfect for beach days and pickle ball/disc golf across the road from the sites.

This was our first time here and we had a great time! Sarah in the office was super sweet and took care of every camping family like they were her family. The lake is beautiful. Great for fishing, kayaking and the kids can swim in the shallow area. Great trails for the dirtbike - were very close and well maintained.
