The people at Menards in Lake Orion and in Bloomfield Hills were so helpful to me. Even one of the GM's was humble and helped me on several occasions. I had no idea the he was the GM. I have had nothing but great experiences with Menards. There is always someone that makes themselves available to assist.

Although I do like the store, the rebate situation is a big disappointment, I recently had been waiting for a rebate of over $30 to be delivered to me, after waiting 2 months I went into my account and and it said I had used the rebate, I always use a debit card with every purchase so I went into my purchases and i did not have any on the date Menards said I used it. I contacted the headquarters and they told me to contact the police and the post office and report it , but would not help me! If they would check ID when rebate check was used this would not happen, they have never checked my ID and I shop there often. I will no longer shop at Menards because of their rebate policies. They depend on customers not sending in rebate certificates! I was a manager for a very large retail store until I retired after 46 years and always hated rebates!!

I like Menards for years but I got a bad experience yesterday. I went to buy two windshield wash and a trash can. I was about to do the rebate but found the wash were priced differently, 2.49 and 14.94. What the Fxxx? Different price for the same windshield wash? Does this apply to “Michigan bounty Law?” The spirit of the law is to protect the customers from scanning mistakes. Unfortunately the customer called store managers and were told not to honor the bounty. What do you guys think? If I don’t pay attention to it Menards would rubbed me successfully to their profit. I feel it is a mistake caused by their cashier and scanning machine. They should correct their mistake honestly!!!!

Bought a Rays Clearance gazebo that had a sticker for 399$ on the display model. They checked upstairs and found one in the box. Brought it down and I took it to the cashier. When it rang up it was 499$. The desk girl said 399 was for the one on display only.
This is bait and switch and deceptive.
I took it anyway but won’t go back to Menards.

Visiting from Washington state and was very surprised at the store and the selection of products. You could say if you don't find it here you probably don't need it. Much better selection than lowes or home depot with very comparable ptices.

An online order was placed and paid for, but upon arrival for pickup a purchased item was out of stock. This is normal, actually. That happens on about half of lumber orders. Inventory is consistently wrong. Reliably wrong even.
Fortunately Josh (a highly competent employee) was able to arrange for me to take a slightly longer board and even instructed someone to correct the inventory!!! More Joshes are desperately needed. I'm grateful for Josh, but there shouldn't be problems like this in the first place. Menards' mistake cost me over 30 minutes and my time isn't cheap.
My problems don't end when I leave the store though. Maybe Menards didn't know, but I intend on installing these boards onto a flat surface. Look at that cup! On the way out I showed the manager, who agreed that the cup was obnoxiously bad. I took the best boards there and left 5 or 6 cupped and split boards that nobody would want. So again their inventory will say they are stocked but some future customer will be very disappointed. At over $50/board, this quality is completely unacceptable.

I was shopping for residential electrical hardware and found Menards to Newell stocked and prices competitive.
I think the Menards 11% rebate promotion is a simple way to save.

Very poor products. Chain saw broke down from first use, chain came off easily. Lawn mowers used for one season, stopped working.
Poor management, 3 people waiting in line and the rude cashier Closed the register and said " you have to go to another register, we are counting cash here" because a customer was paying a large amount of cash and she had to call a supervisor or manager. One of the garden sections and in the 2 times I stopped there was playing music on her phones speaker and barely want to answer customers questions.

Great store, I have purchased many things from them but my most expensive purchase were kitchen cabinets. Worst mistake ever, they are very cheaply made and within 2 years they come apart and have to be replaced, double the money within 2 years disappointed. For the first year they were inside boxes till started working on kitchen.

Watch what you are charged at cashier, watch them closely. Happend yet again today where overcharged. Never undercharged, only overcharged. Nothing to do with 11% off or someone placed item back on shelf in wrong location; it's simply a stated price is scanned at a higher price, and THIS HAPPENS TOO OFTEN AT THIS STORE!
