There are no words to express my gratitude to Mike. My son experienced car trouble on his way home from Tech. 8 hours away from home, so not close enough to get to him quickly. I searched online for places near where he was. Mike was willing to squeeze my son’s car in and take a look at it. He was thorough in his evaluation, he explained things clearly and went over and above in ensuring my son was able to get back to Tech safely. Would highly recommend!

Mike was so helpful when our truck broke down on vacation. He was very busy and was able to squeeze us in and look at our truck. He put in a new thermostat when my truck was overheating and saved our vacation! We were able to go out to the Porkies the next day!

Last winter my mom took her vehicle there to have her brakes done, she lives 532 miles away from me! Upon getting home she smelt a strange smell and noticed her steering wheel was shaking.... She stopped into her mechanic that has worked on her car since purchased! The wheel bearing didn't have the lock pin put in to it! The repairs cost over 500 dollars after paying Mike Dowd over 500 dollars for breaks! I recently took my 2011 Jeep to him because it was a easy fix! He claimed the alternator I purchased was defective, I had another mechanic come look to see what the problem was if it was the alternator or poor work! Mike Dowd put the ground wire that there is a bolt for onto the back of the alternator where the battery cable goes! So I took a picture of the mechanic showing me the problem! Upon sending him the picture he told me I'm a moron and don't know my a** from a hole in the ground! He right that's why I pay someone to work on my vehicles! New cars are far to complicated! But when you pay someone 175 dollars and purchase a alternator for 472.89 and the job is done improperly from a licensed mechanic, and they disrespect you and call you nomads you kind of get a little upset! So Monday morning I'll be at the Baraga county Court house to file a lawsuit for the repair cost the costs of two alternators and the cost of a rental car till I'm able to drive again! Some where in the range of 3370.00 I live in a rural area and it's not easy to get things accomplished here but this business can get you in quick for a reason! When you don't have customers you can do it quick! But quick and cheap isn't the way to go! I've learned my lesson! DONT USE SUPERIOR AUTO WORKS!!!

Claimed he had to replace the outer casing on a starter that was brand new. Added more money onto the bill. This was my mother's car he was working on, and he thought he could milk her for more money. work performed in 2009. He's a scam artist!

Mike came to our rescue on the side of the road, in a van with three kids and a dog. He went out of his way to fit us in his busy schedule and help us out. I would highly recomend Mike and Superior Auto Works 41!
