I would not recommend Crippen for repair. I don't know about the quality of most of there work but they communicate poorly. I was patient with them because of general COVID disruptions but now after COVID has settled down, my experience is no better. This last time I left my Volvo Wednesday morning and said I wasn't in a great hurry but needed it before the weekend. That seemed acceptable to the service manager. I called several times but had to leave messages. Finally an employee called after 5 p.m. Friday and said they just looked at it, it would need parts which would take 3-4 days to get. When asked why I hadn't heard something like this Wednesday the answer given was that there were 15 cars ahead of me. The sign on the service building door (not contradicted by the web page) said they were open on Saturday. They were not. Crippen has some problems here.

My wife had her car in for an oil change a few weeks ago, during which they did a multi-point inspection (which I was told includes the brakes). No mention was made of the condition of the brakes, so we assumed they were good (we were later told they were “yellow”, meaning 3-4 mm remaining). Less than a week later, there was a horrible grinding noise from one of the wheels… the brakes had gone out. We took it back and were told the pad was at 1mm and there was nothing wrong with the caliper. So, how could this have been missed during the inspection? And with 1mm left, why could I feel grooves in the rotor, as if the pad was completely gone and there was metal on metal? Why did the good rotor on the other side have to be replaced when it was plenty thick and could have been turned? I didn’t get any good answers to my questions, and never got a call back to have it explained better. The staff was nice enough, but didn’t have many answers.

Scott went above and beyond to make my car purchase fun and exciting. Was never pushy and provided a comfortable environment to car buying. Highly recommend.

I don't know what to believe anymore. I think Crooked( I know their name is technically Crippen, but Crooked fits better. You'll see why) intended to start out as a good company. Somewhere along the way, they became crooked. My car was dropped off to them for reduced engine warnings and stalling out/shaking. They "fixed" the timing chain. I got it back and it was good for 2 days.I took it back. Crippen(crooked) has made it very clear that they do not like to work with Wynn's, which is who I have the service contract through. Adam at Crooked told me that he had been working with them. He had not. The last interaction that Wynns had documented with Adamn from Crooked was on 10-3 saying that they needed him to get permission to break the car down. Ok? So today is 10-10 and I have been talking to Wynns since the car was dropped off at crooked because I'm not an idiot. I have documented every interaction, and I relayed this information to Adam. Adam denied it and said that he had indeed been talking to Wynns this entire time. Adam has not. I confirmed this with Wynns. Now, Wynns = not a good company either. However, Adam is not innocent. Neither is Crooked.First time it took them 10 days to "fix" my car. This time, they had it for 8. I called them out on several of their lies and I asked them if they could provide proof to corroborate their story. They could not. Instead, in an ultra super defensive move, he told me to come get my car. We are done. In all caps. Like a 6th grader, who struggles to get his point across. You will notice in the text messages how many times this guy's story changes. It goes from "the warranty company took to long" to "now I need to make sure they will authorize teardown since it exceeds $1000". Then he pivots, and says "I see you are leaving the country, the car wouldnt even be done it time". Yes, I tried escalating to a manager, but the service manager was not willing to listen or even show the ability to comprehend that his employee was lying. He sided with the employee and tried referring the car back to a different dealer.Please. Don't use Crippen. Please don't ever, ever , EVER use Crippen. You will never have to experience this, so you will never know how bad it can be.You are welcome.

My husband and I worked with Michael Doyle and genuinely enjoyed our experience there. He made the process smooth, was flexible and knowledgeable. NOT a high pressure salesman, he was friendly and helpful!

Salesman Scott Bugbee was very good and overall happy with him, but feel as though the finance piece was extremely shady and not fully transparent. I realize I am an adult and ultimately responsible for answering yes without full understanding but would prefer in future to work with more “honest” dealership.

Worked with their salesman Scott Kemp, he was wonderful in every way. No pressure and extremely helpful. Asked what I was looking for found it and got it in so I could decide. The purchase was very easy no hiccups at all.

I love working with Chris Erickson and Scott Kemp. I have been working with them for years and trust in their integrity, that I’m getting the best deal available at the time. They are always there to answer all my questions and options and they do t make me feel that I’m wasting their time. I live in Grand Rapids where there is numerous dealerships but I’m as LOYAL of a customer as it comes as long as I feel I’m being taken care of with honesty and integrity. I’m loyal to Crippen and they have earned 2 other of my family members business, because of the reasons I stated.

Overall I like their dealership but it some of things that I certainly dislike. While in for repairs you find your own car. They will drop you off and pick you up but that’s it. Also I had the extended warranty that I paid to much for and I don’t even get to see what they charged the company. How do I even know it’s worth it. My reposes is don’t pay for it or any of the the other wasted services. Just run it with the longest manufacturer warranty and stop. I will not bring my vehicle back after it’s over. I mean they didn’t even wash it. Sundance will at least bring to the car wash after working on it. Finally I got to look at some of the work that was done while changing my oil. They ran a new wiring harness but it looks like a kid figured out how to use the clips. Half of the hard ones were not locked in. I went through and checked it myself. $170 an hour and I have to go back and check. Finally one of the tires they fixed is leaking again. I just brought it to belle and they fixed for free and balanced it. Which most likely not done from there statements.

I helped my 18 year old purchase a used car from Crippen, and the experience was fantastic. Our sales rep Michael Doyle was very helpful and helped make the experience seamless less for both of us. As you can imagine, it was my kids first time getting a loan of any kind, and everything was explained well. The vehicle we purchased had been serviced and was in tip top shape. Thanks to the whole Crippen team for the excellent experience. Car buying shouldn’t be a slog, and this certainly was not.Edit: they also included a full tank of gas, which was a super nice surprise!!

i had some unfortunate circumstances with my car and needed a new one and called and talked to a salesman (his name is Michael) about one of their stock used cars. he took the time in his busy day to move it to the back of their lot knowing i was making an hour drive and wanting to prevent another customer from buying it while i was on my way. he helped us through the process very smoothly and i could not recommend him more if you’re looking to buy a car. since i’m 18 now apparently i get to have the experience to say that.
