As I was leaving an event nearby I noticed no one in front of the store so I stopped in. Usually I would skip this one. Outside can be quite uncomfortable as others in the community have expressed as well. I don’t want to have to feel brave running some kinda gauntlet to be able to go inside. I was pleased to find its a nice little store with all the alcohol you need. It’s clean and customers were nice. The cashier was friendly and helpful.

Hospitality is good. Some of the patrons that visit can be a bit rowdy. But the staff is able to keep them under control. They have everything you need from dish soap to beers to milk, eggs, and honey. If you don't want to drive to far and live close this is the place for you.

Very polite staff unfortunately it is not their fault what goes on outside of the store. I have seen bum fights happen regularly not exactly where bruce waynes parents or uncle ben should stop for snacks and drinks - sure you could say they would do better as a buisness with the homeless constantly being there and buying there. But people outside nickle and dime people to death and there is not an instrument player, anything you give helps, silent cup holder, singer or bucket banger among them its just "sir" a hundred times followed by "i just need some change for the bus" but ultimately it isnt the store's fault. After all they are the closest store to the cata station so that makes them a public service- this scenario plagues all downtown buisness with some even coming in during a meal and asking- and i can't help but wonder how much better they would be doing as a buisness if grandma wasnt too scared to go there twice because it seems to have themost people loitering. It is just not easy saying no to an entire group of people and as a woman it can be downright scary and cornering with no escape sometimes a cup and sitting down implies better with no questions asked- could they ask for anything other than bus change? Certainly. Would they appreciate food or ciggerettes or bottled water? Most likely no. They want bus change but they will never get it from me if they never admit what my change is actually for- honesty goes a long way i would gladly rather buy these people outside whatever they ask for because i have experienced true drug free homelessness myself before. I would hate to give change towards someone's overdose as scary as they can be for people with ptsd. The staff here are very brave and too kind bless them all the homeless too it is not their fault

If you're proficient in basic math this store is great. They rely on the assumption that most of their customers are panhandlers and homeless drunks, so they seemingly base the price on ones perceived ability to calculate tax. I dont really ever pay full price at this point after confronting them about it.

The seedy heart of lansing. The state of affairs around this place do not reflect the friendly family staff inside. Like spending my money in places like this.
