So sad to see this place go! My heart goes out to the employees and their families!
This has been a staple of my life for as long as I can remember. As of 20 mar 2025, there's still selection in certain departments. Yarn is mostly gone, as is thread. But there's still more in other departments, and there's signs that said they're getting more every day.

Not sure what’s happening but there is absolutely no customer service anymore in this country. Went to Joann’s today to buy yarn after receiving an email that they were having a sale on yarn only to find they did not have on the shelf the yarn that I wanted. They had one skein of baby blanket white. I asked the clerk if they had more in stock and she replied “ we may but our stockroom is a complete mess, check back next week “. I DONT NEED IT NEXT WEEK I NEED IT NOW! Left the store to call corporate and was on hold with corporate for 15 minutes before getting angry and hanging up. This explains EXACTLY why the store is closing and filed bankruptcy. Very disappointing. Good help is so hard to find. God forbid should anyone look in boxes to fill the shelves especially during a sale.

I normally always go to this JoAnns because my overall experience there has always been a pleasure. But this time I will probably no longer go to this location. I was in there on 1/11/2025 and I went in there because I was looking for a certain yarn color for a project I’m crocheting I went in and had no luck finding it but I just thought I was looking in the wrong area. I went up to a worker named “Sara” in the fabric cutting area and asked her for help locating this yarn I was looking for. She was so rude to me and degraded me with every word that came out her mouth and made me feel so uncomfortable and in shock that I was visibly shaking. Other customers were in the area and they themselves had a look of shock and embarrassment. I was in the verge of tears before my boyfriend came and helped me try to find a barcode for the yarn I was looking for. When I returned with the barcode a customer approached myself and my boyfriend and told me I did nothing wrong and she woke up on the wrong side of the bed or something. I was dreading to come back to this woman because I might actually cry, luckily the customer that approached me spoke to other workers and they then came back to help thank you Sally and I can’t remember the name of the other woman there but they were a huge help and even though I didn’t get the EXACT color yarn I needed I got pretty close. Thank you to those wonderful women that helped. But as for “Sara” you had no right to speak to me that way, I was nothing but respectful towards you and that was wrong. Overall my experience was a 2.5 star

Kim is fantastic! She went above and beyond to help me get the items I needed for my project. She's also super friendly! Wish every associate was like her!

Placed a curbside pick up order only to wait in my car for 10 minutes, go inside and have to wait and a long line to pick up the order that was supposed to be brought to my car LOL , rude staff too

If you place a pickup order, no one will answer the phone when you call. No one will bring your order out.

I like this store as it is bigger than the one on the other side of Lansing. The only thing I hate is they require their app be in your phone for any coupons or deals. The problem is, I have a phone that is too small to hold all these apps so I miss out!

If you are online checking the store's inventory to decide whether to do an online pick-up order or check availability before you go, DON'T! This store is NOT reliable, and does not post accurate inventory. Four times now I have checked the store's inventory and either placed my online pick-up order and drove there only for my order to only be partially fulfilled, or cancelled, and items nowhere to be found in the store. This store needs to stay on top of their inventory to align it with what is listed on their website. Once or twice, I get it. Now, this is becoming a regular occurrence. It is very frustrating not to be able to get what I need and not even get any notification, only finding out once I have made the trip! Very poor on-line customer experience!

I'm new to the USA and I was so worried about working out the different maths yards verses meters etc. Lisa on fabrics was the most helpful lady she is just a jewel. Lisa also recommended a sewing machine! Thank you Lisa and Kim at the register was again lovely and kind and patient! Ladies thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are wonderful I can't wait to come again after the next football game!

You wonder why these places are going out of business.
When you have stock online but refuse to help the customer look for it. That's why!
Asked for help and the staff member refused to help me because their stock was not on the shelf but in the back. She eventually came back but couldn't check the boxes in the back.

The app doesn't always have stocked items up to date other than that, staff is friendly and courteous.

This is a major store. They have supplies for every craft and tons of all kinds of fabric Great sales with 40 % off coupons and useful clearance items. Staff have never been rude to me. I am at this or the other location at least twice a week. I have to set my spending limit before I go into the store or I over spend!
