I recently bought my new truck from Motorcars. I had the pleasure of working with Jacob. He was very quick and to the point to get me in and out. I not only got a great deal on my truck but was able to get the small issue it had fixed within hours. I am very pleased and will be back to buy my next one there.

On Dec 28th I visited the showroom and met with Tommy and left a deposit with him so that I could have car inspected the next day. The inspection failed (miserably, I should add!). I contacted Tommy via text on the 29th (since we had communicated a few times that way) and said we would not be buying and said to shred my check. I was never told it would be deposited and his reply to me simply said "ok". I assumed the check was shredded. The next day I saw it cleared my bank. I waited until Jan 12th figuring I would receive my refund but it never came. The salesperson said he was not working "the last couple weeks" and would take care of it WHEN he got back to work but couldn't answer me as to when that would be. I offered to make a call, just tell me who to speak with. He refused and said, "Let me do it. I will contact you later. There's only one person there who knows what to do and I will do it RIGHT NOW". I agreed. No followup from him. I called Motorcars on the 13th and asked to speak to a manager and was told they don't have one. WHAT? I was told to send a copy of my check (front and back to show it cleared my bank). I did that. Still no refund. Checked back a few times and either didn't get a return call/text or heard excuses as to why I don't have answers. Two days ago (26th) I text Tommy again. No reply. Yesterday I called and talked to him. He said he got my text but Simone is the person who handles it and she wasn't there, she went home. He literally said (and yes I wrote down his rude comment!) - "She will get it done tomorrow. Don't worry about it, it's only 100 bucks, I will get it done tomorrow." Must be nice that he doesn't have to worry about someone having/keeping HIS money! Today I left a message for Simone around 2pm. NO CALL OR TEXT BACK FROM HER! UNBELIEVEABLE. Maybe this will get someone's attention??? I suppose I will go to my bank and have them open an investigation to get my money back, file a complaint with the CFPB or BBB! How can a business stay in business with such terrible customer service, no integrity and simply being dismissive?

Very impressed with how smooth the process of financing a vehicle was with Motorcars. The salesman, Joel, was both knowledgeable and professional when it came to finding the best car for my needs and in my price range. Very welcoming and easy to talk to. Simone was also great when it came to presenting my options for financing. She too was quite informative and kind. Very grateful for this wonderful experience!

RUN AWAY from this place. The sales department and ownership are deceitful and scam artists. Take the negative reviews you see online and at the BBB very seriously. The quality of the vehicles they sell is poor as is their response to issues. I purchased a vehicle from them and within a week had taken it to 3 different service centers including theirs and a dealership service center they recommended. What we found out was that the vehicle had been "tampered" with (my suspicion is that they fixed things enough to make it sell-able) and that it needed about $8,000 worth of repair. To be fair, $1500 was on consumables. The other $6500 dealt with serious issues like the transfer case and bearings needing to be replaced. When notified, they asked me to call Jack in the service center. I did, we had a decent discussion and he said he would call back with some ideas and numbers. He did not call back. I left 3 messages for Jack and he has still not returned my calls. I have also been in touch with Simone Badawi, who also claimed she would call me back. She never did. I have left her 3 messages and have not gotten a response from her. To alleviate this problem I spent a ton of money so that I could fix the car up enough to sell (disclosing all issues) and bought another car. I calculate that I lost at least $10,000 of equity by dealing with Motorcars. Run, do not walk away from this place and please let everyone know. This is not a business that deserves your patronage.

PLEASE READ BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH MOTORCARS OF LANSING. My husband and I contacted Motorcars a couple weeks ago regarding a 2015 Cadillac Escalade we had seen online. We live in Montana. My husband spoke with Tommy, who answered all our questions and told us they would ship the vehicle to us should we decide to purchase it. As we are a young family with three small children with another on the way, and we had recently sold our vehicle, time was of the essence in getting into a new one. My husband asked how long shipping would take and was told “within a week” (see attached text). When we decided to move forward with the purchase I again asked Tommy when the vehicle would ship, and he responded, “as soon as the bank wires us funds” (see attached text). We overnighted funds to Motorcars on Wednesday (just short of $40,000 between vehicle and paying for shipping) and confirmed they’d been received on Thursday the 18th. Tommy told me the vehicle would get on a truck on Friday. Later when I spoke with him, he said Monday. When I asked him why it was postponed he barked, “I’m not a trucking company. Or a shipping company,” but then said he would see what he could do about Friday. When I hadn’t heard from him by Friday afternoon, I asked him if he had any news. He responded, “Looks like Monday not a lot going to Montana.” Monday morning I received a message saying “checking delivery.” I responded asking if it was leaving that morning and he said, “whenever they get here” (see attached text). No other communication Monday and it did not ship. Communication at this point became less and less. On Tuesday evening, I contacted the owner (John) and expressed my concerns. He confirmed to me that Tommy had lied about the shipping bids, and sent me copies of them which evidenced that. We paid $1,200 for shipping and they were attempting to ship it for less so they could pocket the difference. He also mentioned that maybe I should “look into a plane ticket and come get it myself.” I’m currently pregnant, have three small children, work full time and my husband works out of town. Obviously that is out of the question. Wednesday came and went...still nothing. Wednesday evening I received a text from John and from Tommy asking what I had figured out with shipping. I responded that it wasn’t my responsibility to figure out getting my vehicle here as it was promised to us that it would be shipped and delivered to us within a week after we purchased it (and paid for shipping). I explained that if something wasn’t figured out in the near future I would start writing reviews about our experience, file a complaint with the BBB and have to get our attorney involved. John responded, “...how dare you threaten me that way you do not want to go there with me,” and further that, “Matter of fact transportation is up to you we’re out of it I need the vehicle off the premises within seven days or it’s getting towed out of there tell your attorney that” (see attached text). So currently, our young family is out nearly $40k, we are short a vehicle and my husband works out of town so we can’t share, and we’re forced to hire an attorney to start a long litigation process. Our vehicle is also still listed on their website for sale.

Beware, read the negative reviews closely, they are all really similar. Look at their Yelp and BBB reviews, they are not good. Look closely at the car fax, they do buy items from Canada and sell them here and then need to be repaired. My purchase process started very well, I saw great feedback on both eBay and Google ( for the most part, figured the few negative were the anomaly), so I progressed. Initially the owner (John Badawi) was great, making many promises about the car being in like new condition, purchase to include weather tech floor mats, etc. I was told he was having the truck ceramic coated and detailed to the nines. Thought I found a dealer I would work with again as this was a corporate purchase...I was WRONG!! The truck was pulled off the transporter and initially; I thought everything looked great...that changed in less than 5 minutes. In less than a quarter mile, I noticed the left front parking sensor was malfunctioning (going off constantly) and the check engine light came on before pulling in my driveway. I figured it had warranty, so relax...then, after driving for a few more minutes, there was a very strong burning smell in the cabin. I called John immediately and he was stunned as to how that could be as the vehicle was fully checked out by a local dealer and was in top condition. He was supportive and said it had warranty and not to worry (this seems to be a common tactic). He also told me the floor mats had been ordered and were being sent to my address ( I never got them). The very next morning, on the way to drop off the vehicle at the dealer, I noticed that the steering column cover was broken, again, not the sign of a like new car. When dropping the truck off, I asked for them to go over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb as I just bought it and it was supposed to be like new. While at the dealer, they uncovered the following (photos included...be sure to look): 1- Broken steering column cover 2-Remote start didn’t work 3-On star system didn’t work 4-Front left parking sensor was malfunctioning 5-HVAC system wasn’t working properly...direction of air flow wouldn’t change 6-Front number wasn’t original 7-Hood had been removed (what looked like multiple times) and had scratches all over the edges 8-There was a small body shop repair evident by the poor quality work that was done. 9-After market wiring harnesses were identified, signifying it had possibly been a plow truck (other damage aligns with this assumption) As they went to fix the HVAC, they had to keep digging in deeper and deeper into the dash…it literally had to be torn apart. At that time, they noticed residue on the interior, which was either from a airbag deployment or body shop work…it looks to have been in an accident that didn’t show on the carfax or disclosed by the dealer. Other issues I noticed were the following: 1 – No paperwork/manuals of any sort…NOTHING 2 – Driver side visor was missing the cover and is broken 3 – Protective cover over the fuel tank looks to have been hacked off 4 – Included floor mats that weren’t’ for the given vehicle. John did pay to have the non warranty items fixed (steering column and was incorrectly charged for my owners manual and key fob I asked to have ordered), so I give him credit there, however, you need to be careful…he offered to take it back if I bought a different vehicle through him, I agreed and then he flip flopped two different times, showing me vehicles I could buy and then tell me "a deal is a deal". I wouldn’t buy a vehicle without seeing it in person and having it gone over by an independent dealer on your dime…in the long run it will save you a lot of time and money. Update - 5/26 - I went to clean it this weekend and found that there was overspray all over the entire hood. Nothing was disclosed with regards to any damage or body work, but clearly something was done.

Read the reviews carefully folks. Many similar issues as to what I experienced. Tried to initially call to test drive a vehicle as I was to be driving across the state to do so. Left messages to different salespersons and even the owner to coordinate this. Three days later I got a call back from the owner, John, and was told he would call back. Never happened. Finally after a barrage of calls I was in contact with a salesman and came the same day to drive and put a deposit down. Had a mechanical issue that they signed a "We Owe Form" in the agreement as a repair needed to complete the agreement. Have been back three times across the state to wait all day to find out they could not fix it. The last time I even had a dealership diagnostic to pinpoint the fix. Motorcars did not have the proper equipment to fix it. Turns out the professional dealership will charge $150 to fix the problem that Motorcars will not stand behind. The owner John refused to reimburse the $150 repair. His loss of future business over this will far exceed the cost. Not a good business decision John. When we picked up the vehicle upon sale there were very few stone chips on it. After a couple car washes the chips stood out like a sore thumb. The review of someone witnessing a sharpie touchup makes sense as a poor job of a coverup. Take your hard earned money and time elsewhere. You will be better off in the long run.

I purchased a car from them in December of 2018 and am still feeling the repercussions of it so I'm writing another review. Simone sold me a used car that was rendered useless within six months of purchase due to a rotted out sub frame. This was after multiple visits to the mechanic for wrecked brakes (they lied to my face at the dealership and said they were fine), bad transmission lines that stranded me in the middle of nowhere with the flu, and a host of other problems. I was a college student obviously shopping alone for his first car and they absolutely took advantage of my naivety. I tried to discuss the issues I'd already found with the dealer within a week or so of purchase and they just referred me to their shop, who wanted to charge me full price for problems they'd already overlooked. Do not waste your time or your money.

Don’t EVER buy a vehicle from Motorcars of Lansing. They sold me a truck with a bad transmission. 3 months later it went out completely. They took advantage of me not having car knowledge. I’ve spent a total of 16 hours in the waiting room being toyed around. The mechanic admitted that the truck was showing signs that the transmission was going out before selling. I also have picture proof of them using a permanent marker covering up rust spots and paint chips on a hood of vehicle they were “detailing” to sell. They constantly had interruptions and not a single person would focus on just one thing at a time. It took days and multiple calls to even get ahold of someone. I talked to multiple staff people who were also upset that Motorcars was not offering me much help at all and verbally told me to leave a bad review. If the staff doesn’t trust management, then why should customers? The website is false advertising, they offer you perks that are not actually available. I was offered an expensive warranty option that I chose not to get expecting to be sold a decent vehicle that was inspected multiple times before buying and I was told everything was up to par and the truck had no issues. The one warranty option would not have helped me out. I was offered a deal on a used transmission with almost double the miles on it, not okay. I also have text messages after I was told my business wasn’t welcomed there of the manager harassing me. If you want a reliable vehicle sold by true honest people, motorcars is NOT the place to go.

I am in process of looking for the right vehicle for me. They have been very considerate and helpful with my needs and my time. I have trust in them for when I am ready to pull the trigger
