The gate to the parking garage is often broken or malfunctioning on some level. Towing is only available from 10-6, meaning that people sneak in and take over paid spots knowing they cannot be towed. The gate has been out of service this time for almost a week. Additionally, do not store credit card information in their billing portal if you do not want it compromised. Maintenance requests are not resolved in a timely manner either. This is not the experience I would expect for the price.

Three months post move-in.
A really well-rounded place. There are a few cons, but these are outweighed by the many pros imo. By reading the other reviews,, it seems some people had specific issues with the place, so reading those too might be beneficial. When I first moved in, I wasn't super sure it was as good as was promised, given many different parts of the building were broken or in need of repair (doors and garage stuff, not stuff actually in the apartment). Gradually, these were repaired, including the broken parking garage gate. Below is a general list of notable things I think possible future tenants might want to know:
Pros:
- The cheapest single apartments in the region by FAR, at least as of December 2024. Surprising given the quality.
- Great quality appliances, haven't needed any repairs yet
- Utilities are actually reasonably priced. Like less than $50 a month if you have even a minimal level of power saving effort
- Quiet. Sometimes people in the hallways are loud, but never more than a minute or two.
- Great workout room, like seriously.
- This might be weird to some, but the tap water tastes REALLY good. Something I found a good silver lining
- The key fobs are pretty reliable once you double-tap them.
Neutral:
- Parking garage. The parking is cheap per month, and you get your own spot and everything. However, the garage is narrow and you have to get good at carefully driving in it if you live higher than like the 3rd floor. Heaven forbid you have a large truck.
Cons:
- Garbage chutes are always clogged from dumb people just cramming stuff in and leaving it (at least on the third floor, maybe the upper levels are better). Seriously, screw yall. The maintainance people are decent at clearing them out, but its just easier to use one of the dumpsters behind he building, which I have no issue with.
-My bike was stolen. It was locked up in the external bike area (the lock to that area was broken so I kinda knew what I was getting into) but was stolen after around a month of being locked up in there. Not a huge deal but definitely something to note if you use your bike a lot.
This place has its faults, but remains consistent enough that I would eagerly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable apartment.

I would not recommend living here to anyone. I have had several issues since living here. The only positive part of my experience here is the staff, especially the maintenance people they are very kind and do an amazing job. But anything else about this place is horrific. When I first signed my lease last year we did have guest parking and even slips were given for guest parking that I was using then it came to be that there was no more guest parking but that was not the case when I first signed my lease. The door locks are broken more often than not as well as the elevator on my floor. My showerhead was leaking since the day I moved in in August and I put in a word order that that first week here. I had mold accumulating in my shower every single day and had to clean it every day. Just now at the end of January, it got fixed for a 6 month period this was going on. My garbage disposal was broken when we first moved in and had to take multiple steps and work orders to get it fixed it was extremely complex. Also under my sink, the pipes leaked all over my things along with the floor and rugs and then they came to fix it and told me it was done with so I put all my things back under the sink come to find out the next morning all my things were soaked with water again. When the heat turned on for the first time and our whole apartment smelt burnt and the fire alarms would not stop going off at 8 am. Parking here is atrocious. There were several incidents with my roommates and I. My roommate's car got hit in the parking lot and the office said they could not do anything for her and there were no cameras. Trying to get in and out of the parking garage is a problem itself. It is so tight trying to get in and out my car sensors go off every time I pull in or out. Again the staff are amazing and so helpful and try to assist with what they can and maintenance is great as well.

Under no circumstance would I recommend this place to live. The staff themselves are very nice but that’s the extent of the positives for this place. Within two months of my stay, the dishwasher, my sink, my roommates sink, my roommates toilet, and the washing machine broke. Maintenance was nice and helpful however the project manager made the process of fixing some of these things take over two weeks long. We ended up needing our washing machine replaced and the old broken washing machine has been left in our living room for the past two weeks. The doors within the building are constantly broken and rarely fixed. One of the main doors to get in has been broken for the last 2 months with no difference. The grills outside are super convenient and nice to have however the 4 times I’ve opened them to use them there were mice living in them. There is zero visitor parking whatsoever for the building and your car will be towed now immediately instead of at least the three warnings they used to give out for parking in staff parking lots. At least at the beginning of the year for two weeks they had two spots with visitor parking signs however when my friend parked there for one night, the next morning he had a ticket and the visitor parking sign was removed. They claim they have resident parking however I did not get a parking pass the day I signed my lease and when I went to get one shortly after I was put on a 60 person waitlist and am still currently on it 3 months into my lease so they really do not have parking like they claim. They don’t clean out any of the ducts so the first time our heat came on for the winter, the individual rooms got up to 80 degrees even though the thermostat was only set at 70 degrees. Along with the sauna heat, our apartment filled with smoke and came with a strong bursting smell, on top of it our fire alarms did not go off at this time. I’m not exactly sure how this place has gotten even a slightly good reputation but I would never recommend it to anyone.

Disclaimer: I am not and was never a resident. I work for a company that delivers Amazon packages here, by the dozen, on a daily basis. We had a situation where a technical error made it appear a driver had stolen dozens of packages, and our only way to prove their innocence was to have one of Skyvue's employees cross reference every package in our delivery records with everything they received. They were more than accommodating and did it without any trouble, after hours. So I'm leaving this review because if they were willing to put in this much time and effort to save the job of someone they don't even know, they're probably decent to their residents!

Skyvue has been an amazing place to live! The staff is friendly and always puts on fun events like build-your-own boba tea and pizza parties, which make living here even more enjoyable.

I do not live here by my girlfriend does, but when I go to visit here there is no designated guest parking spots, and the few spots that are outside of the gated parking garage fill up very quickly and your car is liable to be towed at any time so really I don't know what the hell I can do when I want to stay the night with her.

Not good so far. Today is move in day and my daughter and I requested a parking space last May. We were told she was all set. Today is move in day and they have told her she does not have a place to park.

Worst Place I have ever lived… I dont even know where to start because I really did like living here for about 2 weeks then I saw all the issues. My roommate didnt have hot water in her room for weeks and maintenance kept saying there is nothing they can do about it. It takes them forever to clean anything, there was throwup in the elevator for 3 days and it was all over the floor and sides of it, just completely unusable and disgusting. Our welcome mat outside our door was stolen then returned ripped up. The parking garage is not secured parking at all and just anyone can drive in and park. And if you have guests or family/friends come over they WILL NOT be able to park if you call the office they will tell you to park in a ramp on grand river then take the bus back to skyvue. Youll get towed/ticketed if you park anywhere else. They dont even have enough parking for their residents and the extra parking they did have they sold it and started giving out violations. And the amount of broken doors in this place is absolutely crazy, our bolt for our door had been broken since we moved in. The walls are obnoxiously thin you can hear EVERYTHING. Our garbage disposal doesn’t work unless you trip the break box every…single...time. Half our outlets in the kitchen also just dont work. The hot tub can be nice sometimes its warm sometimes its hot just matters when you go I guess. The hallways usually smell like someone either defacted or peed. Was not sanitary at all. Management team was also unhelpful in many different instances, no communication or wrong information thats being relayed to residents. Also they close their courtyard and all lounges/clubhouse at 10:00pm, I was just sitting outside talking on the bench with my friend when we were screamed at that we couldnt be there. Unbeknownst to us since we were never told in our lease or tour or even move in that they close at a certain time. Why would I pay so much for amenities I can’t use? Just I would not live here again it LOOKS like a nice place to live but looks can be deceiving.

I strongly advise against living here. For nearly $900 a month, the lack of care and incompetence from the staff is inexcusable. Most of the leasing office and maintenance staff, including the manager Ashlynn, were rude, unhelpful, and apathetic. The building was poorly maintained, and the staff showed little regard for residents' concerns.
When I moved in, the unit was filthy, with trash and even clothes from the previous tenant. There were also mice that had chewed through cabinets, flooring, clothes, and food. Maintenance refused to apologize or address these issues adequately. They reluctantly provided one snap trap and blamed the new cleaning crew for the dirty unit, but offered no solutions. Mice were a recurring problem in the building, even in the hallways and when I asked maintenance about this they said "there's not really much we can do."
The trash chutes were often overflowing, and bags were left in the building hallways for weeks. This created unsanitary conditions and likely contributed to the pest problem. The hallways and shared spaces (including the hotub) constantly smelled of trash and sewage.
Maintenance was slow and ineffective. It took over a month to fix our broken fridge, and we lost hundreds of dollars worth of food. They told us multiple times it was fixed (after waiting weeks for a part they ordered), and so we would restock the fridge/freezer just to find out it wasn’t fixed and our food spoiled again. When our ceiling leaked during heavy rain, maintenance took over two hours just to bring a bucket and a week to fix the issue. When the leasing office worker came to deliver the bucket she said maintenance had specifically told her it was "no rush" despite our floor being covered in water and water coming from our light fixtures. Two of our stove burners never worked despite maintenance claiming to have replaced them.
The parking garage was awful, especially during winter when the uncovered upper levels were rarely salted. Visitor parking was also eliminated, forcing guests to park far away.
All of these concerns were communicated with the leasing office staff while I lived there but hardly ever were the conversations helpful or constructive, nor were real solutions ever offered.
Overall, my experience living here was extremely negative. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I lived here for two years. I loved my first unit and generally had a good experience my first year. I changed units to move in with my roommate. At move in, the apartment was disgusting with leftover stuff from the last tenant (dirty laundry and trash), all the appliances were dirty and gross (skid marks in the dryer that the maintenance people refused to do anything about, disgusting kitchen appliances, bathrooms clearly not clean, etc.), and the unit had tons of damages (holes in walls, clear water damage on the ceiling). Most importantly, there was mouse! It had either been in the apartment from the last tenant or had gotten in while moving my stuff from my past unit to my current unit, but it had eaten, chewed on, or pooped on all our stuff and had caused more damage to the unit (chewed holes into the cabinets). Maintenance and the leasing office were wildly unhelpful with this issue and we were uncomfortable staying in the unit as the mouse had charged at us multiple times. We had to catch the mouse ourselves with our own traps because maintenance dragged their feet when bringing us traps and basically said that our traps are going to catch it.
Maintenance doesn't do anything unless you're in the unit when they come to fix your issue. Because we are both full time students and maintenance refuses to work after 5, we are never there when maintence comes. I have had multiple issues that they say they've fixed that they did the bare minimum for. My roommate and I had a broken fridge for months that they said they fixed. We could not use the freezer because it stayed at 20 degrees and was never below zero while it froze everything in the fridge. We have lost hundreds of dollars on food that was no longer safe to eat because of the fridge. While it was pouring our ceiling started leaking and maintenance took over 2 hours to get us a bucket. When the person with the bucket came, it was actually someone from the leasing office who had said that maintenance told her that it was no rush to get us the bucket. She apologized and could clearly see that there should've been a rush because there was water covering our kitchen floor. Two of the four burners on our stove do not work. Maintenance claims they changed the burners, whether they did or not, they still don't work.
Besides that one girl, the leasing office staff are awful and generally unhelpful. I can count on one hand how many times they have been helpful that instance included. The manager, Ashlyn, is very mean and does not help on most issues.
I was promised covered parking, but because I live on the 8th floor, I have uncovered parking that did not get plowed or salted even after calling the leasing office to complain. I have wiped out multiple times because of this.
The hallways always smell bad because no one takes out their trash or they drag the trash bag down the carpeted hallway. The trash rooms are always full to the top with trash bags because people do not put their trash down the chute and eventually you cannot reach the trash chute because of the pile of trash. Someone has started leaving their trash in the vestibule on my floor so it always smells awful and maintenance, although I don't fault them for this, doesn't get to that trash for weeks.
There's no visitor lot because all of the spaces that were visitor spots are now retail spots. If a car is parked in the retail lot (even before the retail was open) it will get a warning and will eventually get towed. I would not recommend living here to anyone. Like all other off campus housing, the leasing company takes advantage of the college kids who really only have a choice between bad housing options. Had my experience this year been like my experience last year, I would've recommended it, but the changes they've made this year have made it awful.

I have lived a SkyVue for the past year, and if someone were to ask me for a recommendation for an apartment in the East Lansing/Lansing area, I would most likely say to use this place as a last resort. It is not terrible by any means, but the amount of minor issues and inconveniences start to add up to make things quite less than ideal.
To begin, the floor that I lived on had a constant scent of urine in the halls. Pets are allowed, but it seems like many of them could not hold it long enough to get outside, and the carpet is quite stained.
There was once a pile of dog feces in a stairwell for over a week without being cleaned up.
Once at 3 am, our door was left slightly ajar since it never shut properly, security pounded on our door, and questioned if my roommate who answered if he lived there, and were very unkind in this interaction.
There was a week long WiFi outage, which is far from ideal for somewhere primarily occupied by students.
During the months of the summer when two of my roommates were moved out, our utility prices were calculated as the average of previous months utilities, causing our electricity to likely be much higher than what it would be from just my roommate and I who were still living there.
Utilities were much higher than most of my friends in other places in the East Lansing area.
Parking garage barriers were constantly broken, and if you have a spot on a lower floor, it is likely to be taken multiple times throughout the year. Reporting it typically doesn’t result in any consequences to the person who took your spot, as I had someone stay in my spot through the whole weekend without being towed.
There are no cameras in the upper levels of the parking garage. I purchased a bike at the beginning of the school year, and it was stolen two days after I purchased it when it was locked up in the parking garage.
Hot tub was broken for quite some time, and also smelled of sewage during a different point in time while it was working.
Trash chutes were rarely usable, and rooms were mostly just filled to the door with trash.
Furniture and appliance quality is sub par, our couch cushions started to peel and flake halfway through the year and left flakes all over the apartment and our clothes.
Not all is bad about the place though, it’s a roof over your head with your own bed and bathroom. It’s livable, but far from ideal.

Decent but maybe a little expensive
