I rented a unit for over a year and had the best experience with every aspect of the business. The amazingly nice young lady that runs the office is one of those people who truly care for others and i cant say enough good things about the whole place and when i need another storage unit i will be calling? thank you so much?❤️

I had a great experience at this facility. It's under new management and the girl working there is super nice and friendly. She explained everything thoroughly and the units are clean and dry, and are reasonably priced compared to other places. This place is secure with a gate and cameras. I highly recommend if you are in need of storage!

I'm not one to review unless it's a good review but i feel this time I need to let possible future renters now of the issues I have had. I can give proof to almost all my experience. I first started renting from fort Knox mini storage on lake nepessing 9/3/2016. Later I got another unit at 12/17/16. I had no issues other then a few I never made a big deal out of because I really didn't care. The real problem I had was recently when I rented a 3rd unit that was right next to my second unit. I rented online... this being said yes I should of looked at the unit before I moved in.. but didn't think i would have any problems. I just didn't want to lose out on the u nit next to mine. Well 15 days later I go to put stuff in the u it and the door is almost impossible to open. My Fiance could only open it about a foot because the door is off the track and pushed in. Well... I simply emailed Doris about the door and she said she would have someone check it out that day.... Well I called her later that day for an update she said she will call the repair person the next day because they didn't come I asked to be kept updated for when the door was repaired... 8 days later I get an email saying it was repaired... then I get a letter saying there will be a raise in rental come July to obtain good maintains... I was a little irrated at this point... especailly when we did not damage the door.... we didn't even put a single thing in the unit and if they looked up the key gate log we hadn't even went in the storage area to look at our other units. But I can't provide that log. I asked for a reimbursement for that month was told no and that it only took 5 days to repair.... email to email... it was 8. Then I paid for my other units plus the one I no longer was going to keep because I was frustrated with the way they handled business. Also side note. The gate has been wide open for an estimant of 3 weeks now because it's broke. (Month of June) So anyone can go in and out. I paid for the month of June so I wouldn't get locked out of my other units. Then ask for a refund since they had it up for rent again... and now it's rented back out... for this month which I paid for.... I don't see how this is fair. Gave me a credit for the following month 5hat I did not say I was moving out of and then locked me completely out the month of July and my account online was deleted. This whole thing is very disappointing. Never had issues then p*** hit the fan. I went to other businesses looking for new storage space and they all said they hadn't heard good things... and they weren't associated with them. I would also like to just say anyone looking for renting a unit... check it before you rent it. Take pictures and have all the proof you can... and just hope to god you have chosen to be in business with very respectful and reasonable personal. Overall I'm an easy person to work with. I never was late on payment. Never complained about the gate being open all day randomly all the time... when I picked the place for the gate as one reason. Just would say... Take all the precautions you can if you rent from this establishment. Or... look around alot before picking a final place to rent from.

Don't rent here if you need to store anything of ANY value whatsoever! The storage units in my building FLOODED after the snow melted and when I told management, their response was basically "well, that's your problem, not ours." Also, thanks to an accounting error on their end, I ended up overpaying by $2 one month. When I realized what had happened and asked for it back, the woman at the desk told me they "don't do that," and if I wanted my $2 back, I'd have to contact the owner in Imlay City. Not worth it! Keeping money like that is probably how this location stays in business, because their "customer service" and screwed-up business practices certainly aren't doing them any favors!

Most worthless business practices I've ever seen. I paid for 3 months then was locked out during month 2. Went in to see what was going on and the woman told me I owed $11. I knew this wasn't correct because again, I paid up front for 3 months but was in the middle of moving and really needed access to my stuff so I paid it, then 3 days later got a letter in the mail saying I owed $21 and change so I called and was told to disregard because I paid when I was in...even though it was a completely different amount. I made sure I had my stuff out on the day my 3 months was up and then low and behold get a notice in the mail that I'm being not only charged for another month but also a $10 late fee. Went in and was told you have to notify them regardless of what your contract says your end date is and she still charged me the late fee. She keeps all of her documentation in a spiral note book hand written. No wonder the numbers were never correct. Also when I called originally and asked about sizes of the units she could not even tell me and said I was welcome to come out and look. Not sure how this business seems to survive in this day and age with such poor accounting knowledge and customer service but....I would have given no stars if possible.
