Could not change my store location using zip code. Credit card scanner not working (been months). No one is willing to correct the underlying problem, just fix the symptoms. It would be helpful if the CEO had to struggle with the issues directly.

This Home Depot is an absolute mess. I asked for directions to a lawn mower batter charger, very simple, and I was led around by 4 different people all telling me different places to look then when I finally found what I was looking for it was over 120 bucks for the dang charger and when I looked on Amazon the same thing was up for $39.99. This place is a joke if you value your time and money shop online or elsewhere.

Paint department messed up my paint so many times. One guy mixed the sample wrong so when I bought full gallons and started painting, it was a completely different color. Went to get a second gallon of paint using a color placard I got from the store , and they gave me a completely different color in which they labeled “custom green color.” The only positive is Warren at the paint section helped me with these mistakes (made by others) promptly and was super friendly. If you’re going here for paint, Warren is your guy!

Unprofessional and untrained staff and assistant manager. Customer service refused to return items we purchased because it was over 90 days. Per the Home Depot return policy online, "If your purchase was made with The Home Depot Consumer Credit Card, you have 365 days". When asked for some sort of clarification on why they were refusing, all they could do was repeat on loop "you had 90 days", "my system is telling me to give the items back to you and not return". I was in the store for over 30 minutes as 3 people clicked on buttons, resulting in "there's nothing we can do".
I called the HD 1-800 phone number when I got home, requested a return as normal, and it was processed immediately. UPS showed up the next day to pick up my items.
Do better HD Lapeer. Learn what your actual policy is.

They have decent inventory but some of the help has little or no knowledge of basic building construction or what goes into it. Now and then you get someone who has experience in the trades but there is no guarantee. The automated system when you call there needs to go. I called trying to see if they had insulated ductwork and was transferred to the hiring department. On 07/02/24 I called the pro desk to ask about composite decking and talked to Trudy who was very helpful and knowledgeable.

It’s an ok store. Helps hard to find sometimes and other times you have 5 employees wanting to help. It’s definitely a coin toss when you go in here.

We were in Garden area 2 older gentlemen that work in area are fantastic, really enjoying the flowers. But I must say the interaction with these guy's made the visit very enjoyable.

Purchased a pedestal sump pump from here and it quit working within 2 months they replaced it and it quit again. Went back to replace once again and was told it was out of the 90 day return and was told to contact the manufacturer for the 1 yr warranty. This is a terrible return policy. If I have to return to the manufacturer then I should just buy from them and leave out the middle man/retailer. How are you going to sell a product but not honor the warranty.
