“May be a bit long winded, but here we go:

My daughter and I had a very special vacation in Leland, and when we were shopping for some mementos, we couldn’t help but stop in Greta’s. Greta was absolutely wonderful and patient as my daughter made her choice, and she eventually chose a bracelet. Unfortunately, it broke shortly afterwards. I know it was a local vendor and not Greta’s fault directly, and when we stopped by the next day, unfortunately the store was closed before we had to head back south.

I then reached out to the store, and Greta was determined to make it right. She sent a replacement and an extra necklace, which we never received. I reached out again, and she sent another replacement, which I received, along with the original replacement at the same time (thanks USPS, our government dollars at work). She’s going to be so happy to open her package. I appreciate the kindness and empathy. We could all use a little more of that in this world.

Bottom line: Support this business. She’s a good woman with a kind heart, and my daughter and I can’t wait to head back up to the Leland area again next summer to thank her in person, and support her business as well.”

“This little shanty is undeniably charming and always stocked with cute, tug-themed items -- but the prices have crept up quite a bit over the years. Paying $42 for a long-sleeve tee with just a small, embroidered tug feels excessive when similar shirts go for a fraction of the price elsewhere. It's disappointing to see something that once felt like a celebration of tugboat history lean toward profit over purpose. The staff tends to be distracted -- often on their phones or gossiping -- and one instance of someone smoking inside the wood shanty while handling cash left a lasting impression. I have mixed feelings: love the theme, but not sure it's still worth the visit.”
